It had been 5 years since my last eye exam and I noticed a change in my distance vision. I chose Michigan Eyecare Institute because of the proximity to where I live but also the reasonable price of an eye exam as I do not have vision insurance. I received a thorough exam by Ryan and Dr. Zimnicki and I was able to find a great looking pair of glasses, also reasonably priced, with the help of Jim in the optical department. The whole experience was smooth and professional.

Very friendly doctors and staff. Very clean environment. Had to have cataract surgery on both my eyes and my vision is back to 20/20. Highly recommended this place.
I was so impressed with the staff they made my day while I am dealing with such a life changing event. The doctor was awesome and personable. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
Stay far away! Any competent Optometrist should know that lenses for astigmatism should not be made with polycarbonate, which can cause distortion. They told me they couldn't do anything else for me, even though I couldn't see without distortion. It should have been in my chart that my vision is distorted with polycarbonate lenses, as that was dealt with before. Then they showed me the door, after being a customer for over 15 years. Run the other way! If I could choose zero stars, that would be more accurate. It's now 50 days out, and still no refund.
This place was amazing. For the first time in a long time, I walked in and immediately felt welcomed. Everyone gets along, knows each other, and the atmosphere is very friendly. I did have to wait through the holidays for my glasses, but they came back perfect and I have no complaints. Dr. Z did my exam, took her time, shared stories, and was extremely friendly. I can see perfectly again — 20/20. Jim was also great helping me pick out a pair of glasses that fit me well, and he even adjusted the frames the same day. Overall, a lovely place. I would recommend them to anyone who needs glasses. They have a wide range of options, including the new Meta glasses for anyone interested.
