This was one of the most disappointing, disheartening experiences I’ve had at an urgent care. I don’t typically leave reviews, and this review is not to bash the business but I have to share this due to the lack of professionalism and care shown during my visit today around 7pm. I do want to note that the receptionist was polite, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, the clinical staff were the opposite. The nursing assistant and nurse on shift was visibly rushing, dismissive, and appeared irritated when asked to perform basic tasks such as weighing my children and conducting swabs. When I requested an additional throat culture, a comment was made by the female nursing assistant in a frustrated tone, which made me feel like a burden rather than a concerned parent seeking care. The provider, Dr. Jonathan Freet, was also dismissive. I explained my children’s symptoms, including a 102 fever, sore throat, vomiting, pain in the back of ears and the development of bumps on the hands and throat. Despite this, he initially diagnosed a stomach bug without thoroughly evaluating both children. I had to insist that my second child be properly examined. After finally examining my youngest child, he acknowledged that the throat “looked concerning,” which contradicted the earlier dismissal. No evaluation was done of the visible bumps. I also had to request a doctor’s note myself and was then asked to determine the return date, which I found inappropriate. I would expect a medical provider to make that determination based on clinical judgment. Additionally, I was given conflicting and concerning information regarding contagiousness, specifically being told that the illness would no longer be contagious once the fever subsided, despite the presence of active bumps. Overall, I left feeling dismissed, rushed, and unsupported. As a parent, that is incredibly disheartening. Patients should not feel like an inconvenience when seeking medical care, especially when children are involved. I genuinely hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve patient care and communication moving forward.

The receptionist is very pleasant. Have seen Jonathan Freet PA-C a few times for excellent care and communication. Today I saw Dr. Belser who performed several tests to properly follow up my URI and make further changes with a new Rx. Being a doctor myself I felts she has good diagnostic and treatment skills. This winter my wife was diagnosed with pneumonia there and they expedited a transfer to the Middletown Medical ER. So overall very happy with Chester Urgent Care.
Every time I go to chester urgent care the staff always goes above and beyond. From the receptionist, medical assistants, nurses and the doctors are all great. Today I believe the doctors name is John, I had to have him call 3 different pharmacies cause they didn't have the medicine in stock and every time I called he was so patient. The receptionist is so sweet and always smiling,, even the Xray technician today was making jokes and having me laugh. My daughter Penelope has been there a bunch and they are great with her as well. Their whole team does am amazing job and that's much appreciated especially when your sick, it's nice to be comforted and not feel like a bother. A lot of urgent cares make you feel like your a bother so thanks to the Chester Staff, you guys are wonderful. Sincerely, Michelle & Penelope Scott
Just wanted to thank all the wonderful staff at this urgent care for taking the time out of their holidays to help everyone this time of year. Came in with the flu early in the morning the day after Christmas and everyone was on their game, provided great medical care, and were an overall delight. Happy holidays, thank you!
