Downright terrible customer service experience. I got lasik here about 2 years ago and it’s been months of trying to get billing sorted. They sent me a bill with no explanation several months after my last checkup which is supposed to be covered under the initial lasik surgery payment. It’s been absolutely impossible to communicate with them to get answers on this bill. The clinic says billing works from home so it’s impossible to just go see them, the don’t answer the phone, and don’t answer emails in an even remotely timely fashion. I both don’t know what this bill is about nor am I able to pay it, because the link sent to me doesn’t work. When I went into the clinic looking for answers the lady behind the counter pretty much just rushed through the interaction as rapidly as possible offering no help besides stating they’d email billing and they’d call within the week. What am I supposed to do, just be ready on standby for this phone call any time between 8 am and 4 pm for a week? I’m busy, why doesn’t your buisness dept just answer the phone when called? And why isn’t there someone at the clinic that can field these customer service issues? My problem isn’t complicated, it’s not surgery related, it’s just a terrible lack of communication. I cannot recommend enough going with someone else. This lack of communication is maddening.

My first appt at this clinic. All went well as I found a friendly staff, appealing environment and the appointment with Doc Samuelson brought a secure feeling. He came across as honest and caring as he explained the probable surgery and listed my options. It was a very good experience!
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Minnesota Eye Consultants. I originally called to schedule an appointment approximately two weeks ago and was given an appointment in July. The following day, I called back and was able to get an earlier appointment, which gave me hope that I would finally be able to get some answers regarding my vision issues. Today, just five days before my scheduled appointment, I received a phone call informing me that my appointment was being canceled. I was told that the clinic needed a letter from my retinal specialist before they could proceed with the evaluation. What is frustrating is that this requirement was apparently discovered only days before my appointment, despite the fact that my appointment had been scheduled for over two weeks and I had spoken with multiple staff members during the scheduling process. Immediately after receiving the call, I contacted my eye doctor's office and requested the necessary letter. My doctor's office promptly faxed the letter to Minnesota Eye Consultants. When I called Minnesota Eye Consultants to confirm receipt, I was told they had not received it. I then called my doctor's office back and was informed that the fax had been successfully sent and that it could take up to 24 hours for processing. Because this occurred on a Friday, there is a strong possibility that the letter will not be reviewed until Monday. Despite knowing that the requested documentation had already been sent, Minnesota Eye Consultants informed me that my appointment would remain canceled until the letter was received and reviewed. What makes this even more frustrating is that no alternative appointment was offered. Instead, I am left waiting indefinitely despite doing everything that was asked of me as quickly as possible. I find it difficult to understand why this issue was not identified when I first scheduled the appointment, when I called back the second time to move the appointment up, or during any of the other conversations I had with staff over the past two weeks. Waiting until the last minute to cancel an appointment due to a documentation requirement that could have been addressed weeks earlier reflects a lack of communication and coordination. I am currently experiencing significant vision problems. I cannot comfortably watch television, read menus, work on a computer, or perform many normal daily activities. Time matters when dealing with vision issues, which is why this delay is so discouraging. I understand that medical offices have policies and procedures that must be followed. However, those policies should be communicated and addressed well in advance, not days before an appointment after a patient has already spent weeks waiting. The entire experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and unnecessarily stressful.
I was very satisfied with my follow up examination from Dr. Fahmey. She took time to explain in plain English every step she was taking during my exam. She answered all of my questions and it was a pleasure to have her perform my examination.
Dr. Mona Fahmy is wonderful. Very professional and thorough. The receptionist Aubryn was very short, curt & rude when we were making our return appts. Perhaps she needs a job change......
