I first went to Dr. Paul Chen for an eye injury in December 2024. After my eye healed, he performed eyelid surgery in March 2025 to help improve my vision. One year later, I could not be happier with the results. I can see more clearly, and the outcome has been impressive. Dr. Chen continues to monitor my cataracts and takes a conservative approach in determining when cataract surgery is truly necessary. His staff is courteous, efficient and gets back to me immediately when necessary. Dr Chen is a whiz. I just finished my last eye appointment today and my vision test came out at 20/20! To get my youthful vision back at age 75 feels really, really good. I did elect to get the corrective lens implants done after my cataract surgery I think that is definitely the way to go.

I had a highly satisfying PRK laser surgery on both eyes 10 years ago here at North County Laser Eye Associates, but recently, the vision in one eye started to slip due to old age. Dr Chen performed a PRK laser touch-up on that eye and it is seeing perfectly again! He and his staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and quick. I rarely had to wait long for my appt and each appt was thorough and informative. I was given every chance to ask any questions and provided with any data about my vision that I requested. The PRK surgery was painless and I did not encounter discomfort during recovery (although, that may not be typical). For context, before my first PRK surgery, my vision was worse than 20/400 with an astigmatism (imagine coke-bottle glasses) and now my vision is 20/20 and clear. Amazing results!
