This was my first visit and the staff and physician were excellent. Ruth at the front desk was so welcoming and really helpful at checkout. The girl that did my testing was wonderful also. Both very professional and friendly. Dr. Novotny was very thorough and I appreciate that he took time to call other specialist and arrange for a sooner appointment.
Ruth was very nice, but the lady doing my eye exam said my left eye needed a little help for reading , the doctor said I needed nothing. Then when I questioned him, he said my right eye could use a little help . I told him what the lady said, he said “Well yeah maybe a little, but you’re fine” I told him my eyes got a little blurry during reading. He couldn’t have cared less and it shows. I’ve been In healthcare for 30 years and you know when people care. I accidentally chose this place, I thought I was going to the new place next to the hospital. This place does not have any glasses to look at and they do not advertise that. These people are not from around here, and it shows. You are a number to them. No stake in the community. I will not be back. Save yourself time and effort and go somewhere else. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the front desk lady was nice. The rest is just a bunch of part timers that fill in up there it appears.
Dr Novotny is very personable and professional. He is the first of several ophthalmologist we have been to over the years who took time to explain my concerns completely and offer a simple solution. His assistant was quite efficient and friendly. We are sorry his office will be closing in Clayton, but will follow him to Gainesville.
There was a clerical error in my glasses prescription they gave me and after a week I went to pick them up. To my surprise, I couldn’t see with them! I went back and they admitted the error was their fault and gave me a new prescription. Another 11 days and I’ll have new glasses ( there’s a holiday in that time)! Not pleased! But they’re nice people. I couldn’t get too mad.
The receptionist is very nice and efficient. She had all my info ready when I arrived. Appt went very easy and comfortable.
