While the basic service here is okay, the biggest issue is that all of the doctors are residents, which does not inspire much confidence when you need serious dental work. My root canal took nearly three months to complete because every step had to be done piece by piece and approved by a supervisor. The only part of my experience that was decent was the cleanings. Unfortunately, after my last cleaning, the crown from that root canal came off, and that is where this office completely failed. I now have an exposed tooth underneath the missing crown, and I am worried it is getting worse by the day. I called to schedule an appointment, and they refused to give me one because they said this was a “new issue” that had not yet been verified by one of their residents. Then I asked about emergency walk-in appointments, and they told me those are basically only for people who are in pain. So let me get this straight: I have a crown that fell off, an exposed tooth, and a real dental problem that needs treatment, but unless I am in enough pain, they will not actually help? What exactly is the point of an emergency dental appointment if not to treat an actual dental emergency? After going in circles, I finally asked if it would be better for me to see a dentist outside of their network, and the person on the phone literally said yes. That tells you everything you need to know. If even their own staff is effectively telling patients to go somewhere else, you should listen. On top of that, it is almost impossible to make a real appointment here. I was actually told to call every single day and hope something opens up. That is beyond ridiculous. Patients should not have to chase a dental office like it is some kind of lottery just to get care. This is by far one of the worst dental office experiences I have ever had. The scheduling is a mess, urgent problems are not handled properly, and the whole system feels disorganized and indifferent to patient care. I would strongly recommend going literally anywhere else.

They performed a root canal for me, and I was surprised by how many visits were required just to complete the procedure. Each visit required anesthesia, and while I understand it is necessary, multiple appointments can be inconvenient. Making an appointment at this clinic has also been very difficult. It often feels like some patients are prioritized over others. After my root canal was completed, I needed a crown, but after waiting for months, I still could not get an appointment. Because of this, I ended up going to another dentist to have the crown done. I originally chose this clinic because it is within walking distance of our home. The dentists are skilled and professional, but the scheduling and front desk experience have been disappointing. I later returned for a cleaning, and the head dentist recommended another root canal. They said they would wait for my insurance approval before scheduling treatment. My insurance was approved over a month ago, yet I still have not been able to secure an appointment. In addition, the waiting time during visits is often very long. While I appreciate the quality of the dental care, the appointment scheduling process and patient service need significant improvement.
It's actually really good, the students graduate and come here or are about to graduate. What I learned is that the Asian girls move on quickly because they do the whole job and are not lazy but BUT the black girls are actually very gentile and good with pain. I for example have a phobia of needles and every time I visit they are super good at working around that. So take that advice as you will... The last girl for example, she needs to work with kids this is her calling and she doesn't even know it yet.
Staff are super friendly and helpful. Doctor and nurses are also very approachable and explaining things well. I get it the wait time is kind of long but I can understand. They don’t have too many ppl there. Well at least when it’s my turn I like the experience. :)
While my primary care doctor here is wonderful, the general experience is heavily downgraded by the attitude of one of the receptionist, who always seemed like a bother whenever I tried to talk to him. Yesterday I had an accidental laceration on my left hand index finger, I run to this location, which is also my primary care provider. It took like 15-20 min to go through the administrative process and wait to finally see the nurse, while the bleeding hasn’t stopped. Finally a doctor arrived to see the wound, immediately said they can’t treat it here and asked me to go to a near by City MD. Thankfully, the check in process and wait at city MD was less than 10 min. Initially I thought I needed stitches, but the doctor put an absorbent gelatin sponge on the wound, after cleaning the wound, and the bleeding stopped shortly. While I understand this Health Center is not an ER, why would they be equipped with the similar medical sponge that can stop the bleeding? And still, the front receptionist has to treat people like we owed him a million dollars, with the frowning and condescending look.
