I've been going to Ocean Eye since 2019 at the Summerville location. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I was excited they opened the location in Carnes Crossroads. I recently had my eyes with no minor changes. As I selected my lens, I was very adamant that I wanted transition like my previous lenses. The office manager ensured me the lenses would the transition. I picked up my lenses without any issues. I noticed a week later my glasses didn't transition so I called and I was told the optician may be to fixed. As I went in and explained thd issue, the office manager looked at my Invoice and realized her mistake. I told her I was adamant about the transition and asked her how she was going to correct her mistake. She told that she could re,-bill my insurance and I can pay my co-pay of $81 after tax. I asked for the manager and she was out acting as the Regional Manager and she's was filing in and no one else can help me. I am going back to get my transition but I'm never going back to Ocean Eye again. Poor customer service. As a Customer Service manager, I would never let a customer leave without a resolution and would do everything I can do to make them have a wonderful experience.

Hannah at the optometry shop is my hero! My son had an accident and shattered his glasses. He was able to salvage just the lenses, and Hannah took the time to walk the shop and find a pair of glasses on the racks that she could fit his existing lenses in. My son's prescription was a year old and without a backup pair of glasses he was desperate. Her kindness and patience saved the day and my son can see again! Thank you Hannah for helping us after such a crazy weekend. She exhibited the excellent standard of customer service.

Wow. This place went downhill fast. I'm not sure what they have changed, but it isn't the Ocean Eye I have used for the last 13 years. I had an appointment scheduled for my son in March. I received a call letting me know the appointment needed to be rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts. It was rescheduled to April 22, 2026. Today, I get a call letting me know the appointment needs to be rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts. These idiots obviously don't know how to use a calendar. I told them not to bother. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Went in for my yearly eye exam. I have been an established patient prior to this visit with vision insurance information that hasn’t changed. The receptionist asked for both medical insurance card and vision. I provided my medical insurance card ( which I thought was odd) but then explained that in the past I have just been able to give my name and dob for vision insurance. While the receptionist was nice she made it seem that I needed to be able to provide my vision insurance otherwise I would have to pay out of pocket. While still there I went through my employer info and registered with MetLife account to be able to access my is card. I provided my distal card which had my employers/group number, my name, and plan. This was still not acceptable as she was needing it to have something that is similar to a medical card. I further explained that this has never been requested before, she was unwilling to ask for assistance or guidance from other employees in the store or the manager. I left and on my way home called MetLife to see if there is something I am missing. MetLife explained that because the plan is Superior Vision, all I have to provide to an eye care provider is my name and dob and they can proceed from there - exactly the process that o tried to explain to the receptionist. I understand that the insurance realm is not an exact science and things change regularly, but I expect an establishment that is going to consider themselves an eye care provider be up to date with policies and procedures from larger vision insurance providers.

I have been a loyal customer for many years and was extremely disappointed by my recent experience. I called to ask if I could purchase a single pair of contact lenses because my order had not yet arrived and I was leaving town. Despite being a long-time patient, I was told that I could not purchase a pair because I did not order my contacts through your office. I understand that policies exist, but I had hoped that years of loyalty and support would have been taken into consideration. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling undervalued as a customer. As a result, I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. I appreciate the care I have received over the years, but this situation has ultimately cost you a long-standing customer.
