$25 copay for the exam; doesn't matter that they say IF your insurance doesn't cover it, Medicaid does not. Just bring the $25 as a starter. I brought both of my girls in for exams and to get them both glasses; 12 and 10. Reception Ladies: Wonderful Exam Ladies: Wonderful Doctor: Stupendous Checkout: ..... We came in and we got checked in everything was great I was given the copay paperwork under the assumption that Medicaid was going to cover the copay, It is what it is. Then I took the girls to go look at kid glasses and what I assumed was the "Medicaid-covered" wall. so that they would already have an idea on what they would want. The exam was very efficient; had both of the girls on machines and then they switched machines when the other was done. Doctor was great, had an amazing personality for both of my girls and explained what was going on during the exam for both of them. Then came the checkout process.... My 12-year-old immediately knew what glasses she wanted and my 10-year-old had some ideas. We were handed off to these ladies One was training and one was the trainer; they looked at the paperwork they were given and even though I mentioned briefly that my youngest wants glasses they said "okay, so one of them is getting glasses." .................... (How many periods do you want here to understand a mother's emotions when it comes to trying to come in to get my 10-year-old glasses who has wanted glasses since she was like five? I didn't care that she has a minor very minor very slight doesn't need glasses yet but Will in the future prescription.).......................Tick number one for ignoring a child's simple desire We walk over to the wall and they proceed to show us the wall that is for Medicaid and says adult glasses to my 12-year-old; at that moment it was fine because that was exactly where the glasses that she wanted was located so it was like the universe saying "this is what you want This is what you can have." I take a quick picture because that's what moms do, I transferred the $20 for the frames from her HYSA, and we walk over to tell the ladies that these are the glasses that my daughter wants while she's wearing them on her face. The trainer looks at me and did a correct assessment according to my daughter's face and the glasses, but for the hundredth time my daughter is 12. Very capable of being talked to about maybe glasses not fitting her face, maybe she needs a smaller frame, actively walk over and help her pick out something else. Instead I am talked to as a parent of a 5-year-old or somebody who has a child that is not capable of picking out their own glasses. I looked over and I asked my daughter if those are the glasses that she wants, if she wants a smaller size, if she had a different frame in mind; She did not, those were the glasses that she wanted So I looked back and I said these are what she wants. Tick number two for not addressing a very capable child. I understand as normal they were supposed to upsell packages completely completely normal and I let her go through the entire spiel before I told her that I cannot afford $100 for the upsell Before realizing that I was going to be paying $70 for my visit today. Needless to say I did not pay for a warranty, if my daughter's glasses break then they break It is what it is there is no warranty. I called to have somebody transfer money into my joint account so that I could pay for this appointment and we had to wait for the money to get transferred. Eventually the money was transferred and I got a printed receipt and they were going to send me along my way but I asked for a printout of my girls' prescriptions and I got a huff and an ok as a response. Everyone was being as professional as possible in this situation. They printed out the prescriptions we said thank you Have a good day and went about our day. Every time I've had an eye appointment at my eye doctor, they have always printed out my prescription so that I have it on paper.

Had my second eye exam in my lifetime here. I found out I actually do have astigmatism (like my mother and brother), and my vision is slightly bad. Not terrible, but enough to need glasses. The Doctor is super nice, and educated me on everything he did. I had a very positive experience here. They also have the retina scanning device, and it really doesn’t cost much with insurance copay. Highly recommend to anyone, whether you’re new to eye exams or have experience, this doctor is very good.
