I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience today deserves to be shared. Only two months ago, I purchased my glasses from Optical Outlets, paying approximately $350 between my insurance and my own money. I expected a quality product and customer service that matched the price. When I picked up my glasses, I was told that if I ever had any problems, I could simply come back and they would help me. Today, after only two months of normal use, the frame suddenly broke, causing one of the lenses to fall out. I returned to the store simply to ask whether my glasses were covered by any warranty or if there was a solution. What disappointed me the most was not the broken frame—it was the way I was treated by the front desk staff. Before I could even finish my first question, they immediately answered “No” in a rude, dismissive, and disrespectful tone. Every time I tried to explain my situation, I was interrupted. They would not let me finish speaking, they showed no interest in listening, and they made no effort whatsoever to offer a solution. Their attitude was cold, impatient, and arrogant, as if they owned the store instead of representing it. Sadly, this was not the first time I experienced this type of treatment from the front desk staff. Every visit has been the same: unfriendly, rushed, and completely lacking basic customer service. No customer should ever feel ignored or made to feel like a burden simply for asking a question about a product they purchased. I want to be very clear: the doctor who performed my eye exam was outstanding. He was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cared about his patients. My complaint is not about him. My complaint is entirely about the front desk staff, whose behavior completely overshadows the excellent work of the doctor. When someone spends hundreds of dollars on eyewear, they deserve respect, courtesy, and a willingness to help—not rude answers, interruptions, and an attitude that makes customers feel unwelcome. Because of this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere, even if it costs me more. Respect and good customer service are worth paying for. I sincerely hope management reads this review and understands that the biggest problem at this location is not the doctor or the products—it’s the front desk staff. They are damaging the reputation of the business and driving loyal customers away.

I had an amazing experience at optical outlet. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. Marissa was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and helped me pick out the glasses that fit my face the best. I will definitely be returning next year.
This is an amazing place. The doctor took the time to explain things to me. They help me pick out 4 pairs of glasses 1 for my computer, reading, 2 different ones for every day. I have received many compliments. It was worth the hour drive. Thank so to Micheal, Marissa, Erica.
I went in February to get new glasses. This is the second time I have used them. I should've walked out this last time. When I told them I felt like the prescription was wrong with the old pair...the worker tested them and it turned out they were off. Did my new exam, and the doctor was really nice and attentive. Afterwards...no one helped me or guided me on picking glasses. Just told me where the prices were. When I got my glasses, had them for two weeks and they broke in a place I have never seen break. Put on second pair and within 24 hrs they did the same thing. Took them back and had to pay and order a new ones because I didn't get the protection plan. When they finally came in...had them for a month and the first pair broke. And today my second pair broke. I paid out of pocket for all of this because of NO insurance. I dont recommend them at all. The staff both times were not very helpful and had attitudes each time I went like I was interrupting "their" time. There won't be a third time. Now I am stuck using a pair from the very first experience that they got wrong. 5 months and out of close to $500 down the drain.
I have been coming to this office for many years..My personal take is this...They are aware of the maximum amount if insurance benefits one has, and thay absorb it all..For plastic single lenses, no additional films or tints, it was $200 ..Just for lenses..Frames look like they were from a garage sale..I purchased sunglass frames, which lenses were to be polarized..$500..Picked them up and drove home to Hamilton County..placed glasses in case in glove box...Next day was taking them out of case, the arm fell off ..no biggie ..I can fix a screw..Screw would not tighten ..Back to lake city ..to be told I stripped out screw and since I did not purchase warranty agreement.. My only option was to buy another frame.. I live alone..no children or anyone else would have had access to my cased glasses in glove box.. Turns out screw was stripped out by lab putting in lenses.. This is the ONLY office that accepts United Health care Eye Care ..some in Gainsville and Tallahassee.. it is a monoply.. The staff are rude, condescending and in general unpleasent.. Afterwards, I reported to my insurance company that they were being over charged for for mediocre products and service..but hence it fall upon deaf ears.. It is my fault for returning under\nThe excuse of it's too far to travel elsewhere.Maybe they were having a bad day.I'll be more careful about my purchases..No, no ,no.. Never again shall I use this office. A road to to Gainsville, Tallahassee or Jacksonville will be worth the time ..Better quality on products..better informed, better attitude of employees and better prices.. Run do not walk away from this place..
