Optix Optometry

Nice folks. Took the time to answer all my questions. I was able to get an appointment somewhat short timeframe. Got my new glasses in a week, which was fine. Things were kind of expensive but I'm sure that's true of all opticians. My glasses now have a good long warranty.

Had a great experience overall. Receptionists were nice, doctor was kind, and the lady helping me with the glasses selection was amazing (Camille). She made sure I got the best deal and didn't rush me as I was making decisions. She was personable and felt like one of my friends helping me.

Sadly, this is not a great review. In a nutshell, I was made to feel like every one there hated me. I’m not sure what I may have done “wrong”, but everything about the visit made me feel unwanted. A loooong wait, detachment and slight disinterest from the admin staff, open disdain and dismissal from the doctor, and in the end, contacts that didn’t work. The only reason for two stars was that the staff were at least “coolly competent” in their duties - not friendly or encouraging but seemed to know what they were doing and did it efficiently, when asked. After trying several different contact pairs to no avail (with no further examination), I elected to simply start over with a different healthcare provider rather than face that sort of humiliating experience again. I can only assume there was a dynamic at play that I was not aware of. If it was something I did (being fearful of a possibly eye injury? Being concerned about sudden loss of vision?), please accept my apologies. I can’t think of any exchange or words shared that would cause friction, but there you go. Maybe I just caught you all on a really bad day? The second optometrist I saw was kind, supportive, sympathetic, did multiple tests including the vision testing (tests which weren’t done at Optix), and the Doc spent at least 15 minutes talking with me about eye health, ways to approach contact options, my work and how acute detail vision plays a vital part, etc. I left with three prescriptions based on the different situations my work might benefit from a slightly different vision approach. It was the “compare and contrast” that caused me to actually write this review. Take the time to Find good healthcare professionals - you’ll be happier in the end.

Dr. Beck was so nice and showed me genuine concern as he always has. His nurse was also exceptionally nice as was the front office staff. No one acted like I was an inconvenience for an urgent same day appointment. Such a friendly and proffessional office. They all deserved five stars!! Thank you, Dian

We all wear eyeglasses in our family. Have gone to many different optometrists but these people are by far the best. We visited Dr Beck last week for the first time for my kid. The staff are great and he examines every detail. The equipment is up-to-date. They offered a discount for our visit and we paid $75. He also consult me on my eyes even it was my kid's appointment! We strongly recommend them.
