I went in today for my hernia consultation, after 3 months of OHSU/OHP runaround. But that's another story. I got there at 2:45, as requested. At 3:20 I was admitted, vitals taken, and an amazing intern named Zach sat with me and explained everything. He said he'd get my doctor. I waited for an hour in the exam room. I was starving; I didn't know I'd be waiting 2 hours like a cow in a pen. I complained, and Sarah, the doctors's wonderful assistant, brought me 4 pairs of saltines and a small instant oatmeal cup. It was adequate. The PEOPLE at OHSU are amazing. The INSTITUTION treats patients (at least OHP patients) like cattle. You put me in a waiting pen until you had time for me. You didn't offer me food or water, or a realistic estimation of how long I'd be waiting. Animals don't get such niceties. It used to be that human patients *did*. The PEOPLE at OHSU earned a 4-star review instead of a 1-star review. You can fix this somehow. You can enforce accurate "How long will I wait" estimates. You can offer water or food for those forced to wait for hours. I spent 2 hours before my doctor could meet with me. That wasn't his fault, OHSU. It was YOURs. These are my truths. I do not hate, but I do demand that a PERSON force the INSTITUTION to make a change. This is my request... nay, my demand. Please let me know how you'll be handling this complaint. Thank you! Scott

I'm sure it's great if you're not needing long term care. They are a teaching hospital and the staff are like revolving doors. I have had to pronounce and explain my medications/ conditions to more than 1 Dr and that can be a bit scary when they're supposed to be giving you answers to some serious issues. The Drs also leave and not only do they generally not assign you to another Dr, but they don't even bother to tell their patients they're leaving. This has happened 6 times to me, so I don't think it was a mixup. Beautiful views, just not great care

Pretty great parking garage for portland. Super easy to get between buildings. I went in for a MRI at like 10 at night, it was kinda cool. (No traffic) everyone there was very helpful and appointments seem to happen perfectly on time instead of 30 minutes or more. Idk maybe because it was a MRR in the middle of the night.

Dr. Jennifer March was a terrible doctor. I'm autistic & was born premature. I have dysphagia from chronic tonsillitis, cryptic tonsils and tonsil stones, I came to her for medical help and I got nothing. I begged BEGGED for a lifesaving surgery and I got nothing. I wasted my time traveling to this hospital and over $200 on gas for nothing. For "professionals", they're good at doing nothing and ordering a bunch of tests instead of listening to their patients. It's says online when you look up anything related to tonsils that "Doctors may recommend a tonsillectomy if you experience recurrent tonsillitis (e.g., 7+ times in one year), chronic bad breath that affects quality of life, or persistent pain and difficulty swallowing due to large, uncomfortable tonsil stones". I've had tonsil stones/dysphagia/chronic tonsillitis and for over 4 YEARS STRAIGHT and not one doctor from this hospital was any help. I told them how terrible my condition is and they still refuse me.

I’ve been to the OHSU South Waterfront Center for Health & Healing (building 1) for the Dermatology Clinic on the 16th floor and Surgical Oncology on the 7th floor...every single employee from the information desk, to check in, to medical assistants, and specialists have been some of the best healthcare I’ve ever experienced!!! FYI...the 16th floor is the top floor and has an outdoor viewing deck!!! The view is absolutely breathtaking!!!
