I’ve been seeing Dr. Nathe for my eye care, including punctal plugs, and I’ve been extremely happy with the care I’ve received. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, takes the time to explain everything clearly, and always makes me feel confident that I’m in good hands. The appointments are thorough, professional, and never feel rushed. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about his patients and providing the best possible treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Nathe and Pacific Eyecare to anyone looking for an experienced, attentive, and compassionate ophthalmologist.

I went to Pacific Eye Care clinic a couple of years ago. Got glasses. Great experience. I need new glasses. Not going here! Here's what happened: I spoke to the receptionist after leaving a call back message last week. Didn't get a call back so I called today. I asked the receptionist to make an appointment for an exam and glasses. I was told I needed a referral from my PCP to make an appointment. Sit with that a minute. My MEDICAL doctor needs to refer me to an unrelated EYE doctor who I chosen through my VSP benefit portal for an annual eye exam. I'd been there before. I've had glasses for 30+ years. I clarified that I needed my PCP to refer me? She spoke to me slowly like I was stupid "We. Need. A. Referral. From. Your. PCP. To. Make. An. Appointment." Unbelievable. I told her I had been there before, I was trying to make an appointment, not to speak to me as if I was stupid! And that I would not be going there for glasses. Then I hung up. Apparently they are too busy to hire someone to return calls and too busy to screen hires. They are definitely too busy for my money. I needed two pairs of glasses. Oh well. Going elsewhere.
I have cornea issues and am difficult to refract. They knew this when I made my appointment 6 months ago. I would never have come in if I knew, after that long wait, that the optometrist DOeSN’T exam your eyes or perform the refraction but leaves that important exam to technicians! So unprofessional! Also, I was in the office for HOURS waiting for my appointment! You would have thought that they weren’t expecting me! If you want a good exam by a professional optometrist, go somewhere else!
In my opinion it says much about the judgement of this practice that they chose such a poorly designed and borderline shoddy complex as a location. The parking area is ill-maintained and confusing. Worse yet, Bldg D (which contains both Surgery and Vision centers) has only TWO disabled parking stalls with reasonable access to the (absurdly placed) entrance. TWO! The complex design feels lazy and cheap. Also...I really didn't appreciate being interrupted mid-sentence (while speaking to the Dr's assistant) by a rather dramatic/flamboyant young staff person; the performance was unprofessional and rude. I have no issue (so far) with the actual treatment, but believe practitioners best serve their patients by attending to the entire experience.
I have gone to this clinic for years. I've never cared for anyone at the clinic except for the doctor. I recently started having a major eye issue and called them and they completely blew me off. They didn't call me back like they said they would. So I called the next day, and the exact same thing happened. Eventually, they did call me and said they were too busy to see me. Just use some eyedrops and hopefully it would get better. That was not ok. So I called another clinic who had never seen me before. The receptionist actually spoke to the doctor (Which you would think Pacific EyeCare would have done, but they did not) and he said I needed to be seen immediately. He had no open appointments but just had me come in and squished me in. He is now going to be our entire families new eye doctor. I will NEVER go back to Pacific EyeCare or recommend them to anyone.
