Pediatrix Ophthalmology of Texas at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen

Every single time we have an appointment, we are waiting 30+ minutes. Dr. Chen has gotten snippy with my young children on a few occasions. She has made a few recommendations on surgeries for one of my children, but I felt it was best to wait. After some waiting time, she has changed her mind and said the surgeries weren't necessary unless I wanted them down the road. I have given this office multiple chances, trying to be understanding. By this point, she should know how to treat children and the whole practice should be ran better.

Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Chen and her staff - especially Ellen. We had an emergency situation with our daughter and the team went above and beyond for us. They worked us in immediately (we had to wait, but they were very upfront about this) and also fought on our behalf when insurance initially denied our claim. Dr. Chen was great with our daughter and kept her calm throughout the office visits and surgery. Thank you all for your help!

This place was great! They are very caring and all staff that we encountered had great "bedside manner." All of these past reviews are legitimately invalid at this point and time. I was skeptical and nervous to book my child here due to those reviews, but my 3 year old actually enjoyed the eye doctor - minus the dilation (what kid likes eyedrops?) but they were pros and handled that very quickly. They have books and 2 play areas for the kids and mine even wanted to stay a few minutes after to play! Highly recommend this practice!

I'm very happy with Dr. Chen. She took excellent care of my baby who needed to have minor surgery to clear her tear ducts. Making the appointments was easy, her assistant is very nice and capable. We never had to wait long to see the doctor. When we saw her, she was very sweet with my baby girl and explained the condition to me and what needed to be done. We had the surgery performed at the Presby, in Allen, which is in the same building where Dr. Chen has her offices. Very convenient and my baby was treated very well by all the staff there. I'd recommend Dr. Chen to other parents who need an ophthalmologist for their kids.

Dr. Chen is nice and very knowledgable about her area in Pediatric Ophthalmology. BUT, there is a huge part of being professional when having a practice and maintaining clients. My complaint: Dr. Chen runs late ALL THE TIME. We've just had our 4th appt and had to walk out(got a refund). She runs anywhere from 30 minutes to an HOUR behind. (Today she was 40 minutes late.)This drives me crazy. She is not worth seeing if we are having to wait that long. Double booking patients is not my kind of office to be apart of. The lady who checks you in is super sweet and helpful. Thank you for your kindness and understanding today as you refunded our money. Dr. Chen, you gotta get it together and stay on a professional time frame with patients. We love you but making us wait that long is so not cool. To all those seeking Dr. Chen's practice, don't say I didn't warn ya.
