Positive Eye Ons Optometry

I have nothing but positive things to say about Positive Eye Ons. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and their new location is a big step up from their former space on Melrose. I usually see Dr. Stybel, who is excellent, but I was long overdue for an eye exam and he was unavailable, so I was able to make an appointment with Dr. Shore on short notice. He was every bit as friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and I would readily see him again. I also wanted to get some new frames to go with my new lenses and I was impressed with their expanded range of options. Staff member Alex assisted me by presenting me with a variety of styles based on my preferences. With so many exceptional choices, it was hard to decide. Positive Eye Ons has always been known for carrying a wide variety of top brands and styles, and I’m going to be very happy with my new glasses.

There is a lot to like about this place. Great Staff, friendly doctors, cool tech. But I think after coming for a few years the cons are outweighing the pros for me. They charge about 2x or more than an eye exam elsewhere and the turnaround time on the lenses is like 2.5 weeks, which is also way longer than it should be. Then they have the audacity to charge a credit card fee on their already high prices, which is just a tacky look to nickel and dime your already overcharged patients.

Brought our 9-year-old in for red eyes and had a great experience. Booking was quick and easy. Dr. Theresa Tran was professional, patient, and thorough — she took the time to explain what was happening, why, and the best way to treat it, walking us through everything before we left. Never felt rushed. Highly recommend Dr. Tran, especially for parents with young kids. She’s literally the best in the biz!

I’ve been coming to positive ions for years and I don’t think I would go anywhere else. They have the technologies to make a true diagnosis. The front office staff is friendly and welcoming, and they answer all your questions without hesitation. I’ve seen three different optometrist, and all three of them have been insightful, they explain everything to me in terms that I can understand, and I feel like they’re all proactive about things. I saw Dr. Castro this last time and she was excellent. She really listened to me during my visit. I highly recommend Positive Eyeons.

Dr. Shore is the best. He’s always very thorough in explaining anything and everything going on with my eyesight. The techs and admin staff are very friendly and helpful with anything I need whether it is scheduling appointments or getting a few pairs of loaner contacts if I run out. I highly recommend Positive Eye Ons!
