Primary Eye Care

Dr. Blair has accomplished something I truly thought was no longer possible. I’ve struggled with my vision for nearly 20 years, and a previous attempt at scleral lenses a couple years ago didn't work out so well—I was essentially ready to give up on the idea of corrected vision. Dr. Blair at Primary Eye Care Associates worked with me for a new fitting, and the results have been life-changing. For the first time since my early college days, I can see with incredible clarity. We are still in the adjustment phase, but I am now able to get through a full work day with high-definition vision. I highly recommend Dr. Blair. He is an expert in his field and has given me back a quality of life I thought was gone. I am incredibly grateful for his expertise.

I went to see this eye doctor on 4.27.26 for a eye exam and also a refraction exam since I am type 2 diabetic. Before going in I called and gave them my VSP-Plus eye insurance information, and they also asked for my medical insurance which I provided to them Cigna. After the exam I was told that my eye glass insurance was very good and I proceeded to pick out new frames. The amount I was told that would be my copay was: 299.20 which I did pay that day. I was told the glasses would be ready in about 2 weeks. I picked up my glasses and was having issues seeing so I reached back out and asked if I could be rechecked to see if something was wrong. On May 13th I received a text message stating I owed $!95.90. I called and spoke to whomever answered and was told that this was for what was not covered under my insurance. I told them I did not understand since I had already paid 299.90 and she stated we don't know until we hear back from your insurance. I was upset I had glasses I could not use and another bill bringing my total to$ 495.10! When I went back in to have the glasses checked and my eyes I asked the person at the desk if I could speak to someone and she looked at it and said I will need to ask my office manager. She returned and said she will reach out to your insurance and let you know. I have the VSP Vision Benefit statement and showed this to both of them. It states Total Billed: 1103.00-Total amount paid: $305.25 and my amount owed: 140.00 total savings 657.75. They did not bill VSP for my eye exam that would have been a 10.00 co pay or the refraction that would have been a 20.00 co pay they sent these to Cigna. I also have a 39.99-dollar fee on the original 299.20 for a one-year warranty that I was not made aware of or have any information on. I have tried to reach out to the Office manager leaving a message last week but no response. I have overpaid by a lot, and they did not bill my insurance correctly and they participate in the VSP.

Dr Blair and his staff are wonderful! We’ve been patients for several years and have had nothing but great experiences!

Called twice to reorder lenses that are already on file from my purchase last year. I’m not able to come in person and was told both times I’d receive a callback to get it taken care of. Neither callback ever came. Disappointing experience for what should have been a simple reorder. Practitioners are great. Front desk, not as consistent.

Wonderful stuff! So welcoming and educated! Also, ask to meet Blue and give him some scritches! He was my favorite part! Love this place!
