I was extremely disappointed with our first experience at this clinic.
We had only recently switched providers for personal reasons, so this was our very first visit here. Unfortunately, the experience felt cold, confusing, and incredibly impersonal from start to finish.
My son was taken back alone, and I was not allowed to accompany him or given a clear explanation beforehand. At some point during the visit, staff also had him wear a mask and taped it to his face to prevent fogging issues during testing, which I was neither informed about beforehand nor consulted on as his parent.
After the appointment, I received little communication about what testing was performed, what the findings were, or who the doctor was. In fact, I still do not know who the doctor was because I never met or spoke to them at any point during the visit.
We were simply told to look at glasses and later schedule contacts. At one point, staff told me to “schedule him for his exam,” which sounded urgent or follow-up related, but it ultimately turned out to only be for next year’s routine visit. The communication throughout the entire process was unclear and frustrating.
I repeatedly had to ask the front desk what the actual outcome of the appointment was because no doctor or nurse initially came out to speak with me. I was also not provided the requested doctor’s note before leaving.
The entire experience felt so impersonal that by the end, I honestly questioned why I had even come there at all. While the office appears technologically advanced, the actual patient experience felt rushed, disconnected, and transactional.
Parents should not have to repeatedly ask for basic information about their child’s appointment.
