I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Raymond Umeda and his team. Although the office is smaller, it has a great selection of name-brand frames and feels welcoming and comfortable. I was unfortunately running late after getting lost that morning, but the front desk staff were incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. They made the check-in process smooth and stress-free. Dr. Umeda was thorough, attentive, and genuinely caring. Unlike past eye exams where I felt rushed into a general prescription, he took the time to understand my daily needs and occupation. Since I spend long hours drafting in AutoCAD, working at a computer, and reading, he carefully tailored my prescription to support screen time and reading rather than overprescribing for distance vision that I didn’t truly need. I appreciated how detailed and observant he was throughout the exam, which gave me peace of mind. Afterward, the staff also helped me choose frames that suited my face shape and style, and recommended lenses to reduce glare and blue light from computer screens. Overall, the appointment was efficient, thorough, and never felt rushed. Everyone was friendly, patient, and took the time to answer my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Umeda if you’re looking for thoughtful, personalized eye care.

On my second year with Dr. Umeda and he's nothing short of amazing. Due to astigmatism, getting my prescription properly adjusted takes some nuance and patience. Each time he's carefully made finite adjustments to keep me at 20/20, both close and distance. The staff is also very friendly and efficient rounding out the overall experience. If you're in need of a first rate optometrist, look no further.

Optometrists are like dentists, etc. I need to feel exceptionally comfortable and confident with the Dr. and the Staff. Dr.'s assistants explain everything from the moment I walk in the door until the moment I walk out. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Umeda takes the time to explain every little detail post exam. They have state of the art equipment as well as a large selection of frames. The assistants have absolutely no problem going through over 50 pair of frames to help with the decision if necessary. VERY patient! I am completely confident in the capabilities of the entire office and Dr. Umeda not to mention comfortable!

If you want an eye doctor that really cares about you, this is the place. I have been seeing Dr. Umeda for more than 20 years and really appreciate the great care he takes to explain how I am doing and to correlate my vision to my daily life and work. They do have some crazy new technology which makes me feel very comfortable that they will be able to early detect any issues. The staff is super friendly and very helpful.

I have been visiting Dr. Umeda for my eyecare needs for many years. His office has modern testing equipment that helps evaluate retina and macula health which are a specific concern for me. Also, I have sensitive eyes and do not find most contact lenses comfortable. Dr Umeda has worked with me over the years to identify the best contact lenses for me.
