I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Before scheduling my daughter’s appointment, I specifically called and asked if her insurance was accepted. I was told yes, and I even provided the insurance information over the phone when the appointment was made. When we arrived, I gave the front desk another copy of her insurance card, so they had every opportunity to verify her coverage before the appointment began. They proceeded with the entire eye exam without mentioning any issues. It wasn’t until checkout that I was informed her insurance would not cover the visit, and I was expected to pay $175 out of pocket. Their explanation was that because my daughter didn’t have a medical eye condition, her insurance wouldn’t cover the exam, and they supposedly didn’t discover that until she was already being seen. That explanation is unacceptable. Insurance verification should happen before a patient is taken back and services are provided—not after the appointment is complete. Had I been informed beforehand, I could have decided whether to proceed or reschedule. Instead, I was left with an unexpected $175 bill. What if I hadn’t had an extra $175 available? Patients deserve transparency about their financial responsibility before receiving services, not after the fact. This experience reflects poor communication and a lack of proper insurance verification. I hope the office improves its process so other families aren’t put in the same position.

I was very pleased with my entire visit at Rayner Eye Clinic. Highly trained and personable staff. I have dealt with many eye care clinics as I was a representative that called on Ophthalmology offices across the country. Rayner’s is excellent at moving patients in a timely manner all through the office visit. Did not wait long at all between testing and evaluation. Dr. Tann was right into the exam room to finish my examination shortly after I sat in the chair. Overall great visit and will trust them with my vision.

I had a positive experience as always. Dr.Tank has been my doctor for years, and he is thorough and pays careful attention to the condition of my eyes. The staff members are all kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

I went on Tuesday April 28 for what I thought was a usual appointment with a medical specialist; in this case an ophthalmologist. As is the usual experience, I was prepared for a long wait. as the medical profession is known for being inconsiderate of other people’s time, and I had brought a book. Within a few minutes of my arrival (some 15 minutes early) I was taken to an examining room where an extremely professional technician put drops in my eyes and then gave me a thorough examination, with pictures being taken. Jane’s fussing at me for going too long.. Dr. Farmer came in and suggested that the lenses that had been put in about 20 years ago needed cleaning and that he could do it then with a laser. Having had laser surgery several years ago for a problem with my right retina, I was hesitant to let it happen again because of the pain; but I was assured by Dr. Farmer that this cleaning wouldn’t hurt. It didn’t. I can see better with my right eye and I look forward to having my lest I fixed. I remain pleased with Rayner Eye Clinic and their staff. I will recommend them to anyone in need of ophthalmic treatment. Joseph E Winston

The rudest staff I’ve ever talked to over the phone. Never been treated so poorly by an eye clinic. Just wanted to verify a referral and spoke to 2 different women who were down right hateful. If you hate your job that much maybe you should work somewhere else!
