Was referred here by my primary care physician to receive a tint exemption form. I’ve 20/80 vision since age 5, and had previously been a patient at Reed. I’m also a NYS employee with vision/dental (no copays) for 5 years. Upon arrival the receptionist was cold, verified my information and requested $40. I stated I didn’t believe that to be accurate as I had never had one in 4 years and she rolled her eyes and said “it’s $40 ugh” as if I was a moron. I questioned it again, can you please verify and she said It’s. Forty DOllars. She then looked at my wedding ring, clothes, purse and SNORTED. Im pretty sure she believed I was on government assistance instead of a state employee not understanding the difference and acted as if I was garbage and said AGAIN almost screaming “it’s $40!!!! At that point the manager turned around and asked a question I didn’t catch, she again rolled her eyes and said hang on. The receptionist next to told her to check whatever insurance company. Again she rolled her eyes and started literally grumbling. I’m sorry, but what actually happened to customer service?!? Isn’t it literally your only job at your job to behave like a decent human let alone to provide the service I’m paying ( or you are billing my insurance for) a basic service?!? Then the only bright spot was the very gracious manager who took the time to look into the situation, informing me it was a medical referral for a service THE DOCTOR will NOT provide even with proper documentation who referred me BACK to my primary care physician?!? At least she(the manager) saved me from an unnecessary copay and spoke with kindness and compassion but if you feel like wasting an afternoon to be treated like garbage by a condescending ignorant receptionist go here? Lesson learned, lll call ahead in the future but it felt like a rude shakedown after taking time off work, driving 45 minutes and paying for additional childcare. The entire experience has me questioning the aptitude of RGH, and I’m going to take the time to find the next closest In Network Provider where possibly the employees in HEALTHCARE give a single care about humans. Avoid this place.

All I can say is this place is a disappointment. Some staff are decent and some are not. It shouldn’t take two years to try to get someone new glasses only to be told come back in another six months. What is that doing to help the patient see better. Just plain ridiculous.
Their staff is courteous and always able to set appointment to fit your schedule.
This place is so unprofessional. All the workers just loudly chatting amongst themselves. Slow on taking care of customers. Very disappointed in this place.
I have been going to Reeds, (if it's even called that anymore) for over 20yrs. Ever since RRH has taken over it just seems like they are reaching into everyone's pockets. It's unfortunate, cause l am not even convinced the staff is happy with some of the changes!! Either way, from the very nice nurse how checked me in and prepped me for the doctor, to the doctor and to the birthday gal who checked me out afterwards!! The 3 starts are for all of you!!! Job well done team!!!
