I had an appointment at Westwood Ophthalmology Associates on August 18, 2026, and paid a $25 copay. After reviewing my previous diagnosis, the doctor’s assistant informed me that the doctor does not treat retina-related conditions. I was then taken back to the reception desk and told that my $25 copay would be refunded because the office could not provide the appropriate care. The receptionist explained that the billing representative had already left for the day and assured me that the refund would be processed the following morning. However, as of September 8, I still have not received the $25 refund. I have tried to resolve this issue, called ,left messages , and my email to the office bounced back. I am disappointed with the lack of follow-up and communication regarding a refund that I was specifically told would be issued. I hope the office will address this matter promptly and improve communication and customer service when handling refunds.

My Appt is 845am. After one hour still waiting i have to leave a rating here. Patients also have work to do on Friday. We cannot afford to wait ridiculously long time here.
I am extremely disappointed with the communication and scheduling process at this office. I have been calling for two weeks to schedule my cataract surgery and have left numerous voicemails. I even stayed on hold for 39 minutes, only for the representative to tell me she 'didn't understand why' this was happening before transferring me to the surgery coordinator. I left more messages for the coordinator, and nobody ever calls back. This is completely unacceptable when trying to arrange an important medical procedure.
Very professional. Very friendly staff and efficient. Dr. Fleischer was very competent and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. I have been working with them for about 20 years
Scheduling an appointment with this office is incredibly frustrating. I waited 3–4 months for my daughter’s appointment, who is 9 months old, only to arrive and be told—very rudely—that my appointment was at 11:00, when I have text message confirmation clearly showing 11:30. Even after I pointed that out, the staff refused to acknowledge it. I arrived about 20 minutes early to complete paperwork, and while standing there alone filling it out, the receptionist asked me if the patient was even there. I mean—of course she is. Why would I show up alone for a pediatric appointment? That question was unnecessary and unprofessional. Before the visit, I called twice to confirm the doctor’s name and make sure everything was in order with my insurance. I was told everything was fine. However, when I mentioned this at the front desk, the receptionist responded, “It wasn’t me you spoke to, I don’t know who you talked to.” That response is unacceptable—she represents the office. Whether it was her or not, the office should take responsibility for the information given to patients. This lack of accountability is extremely unprofessional. On the day of the appointment, I was suddenly told I needed an electronic referral—something that should have been clearly communicated in advance. I did my part by contacting my PCP to submit the referral, but it’s clear that neither the PCP’s office nor this office coordinated or followed through properly. That failure on both sides directly affected my time and my daughter’s comfort. After all of this, the only solution offered was to reschedule… in another 4 months. Completely unacceptable.
