I would highly recommend Retina Associates and Dr Cameron Javid Having discovered that I had a detached retina at 9am Dr Javid scheduled me for surgery that very same afternoon. My wife and I were scheduled to leave for Europe exactly 5 weeks later. Time was at the essence. Dr. Javid completed an extremely successful surgery ( my vision is better now than prior to retina issue). very skilled Dr. and team at Retina Associates. I will definitely return should the need arise. Thank you DR. Javid!!

Dr. Javid and his staff are fantastic. My husband was referred to him and was determined that he had eye cancer. Dr.Javid and his staff step right into action and had an MRI scheduled for the next day for radiation. A month later happy to report the radiation.
Although a large and busy practice, I found the doctor and staff at Retina Associates to be very personable and professional. Dr. Ryan Wong was able to address my issues and guide me through next steps for follow up. His staff was also helpful, kind, and caring. When I called to request that my films and medical records be sent to my ophthalmologist, Veronica was incredibly efficient and helpful. I recommend this practice to anyone looking for excellent eye care in Tucson.
Office understaffed. My appointment was for 1:15. I didn’t leave there until 5:00 pm. Not one person wore a name tag, nor did anyone introduce themselves. I ended up with an eye injection. What to expect? Nothing explained. Move from one station to another. I had not eaten. At 3:00 I said to one employee I had been there for 2 hours and she said so had she! No information about what to expect before or after the injection. Or why I had to return in 4 weeks. How will my eye feel? When should I call if I had problems? What might I expect? Very disappointed. No patient education. I dread going there again.
Most recent experience here was tragically terrible. My mom used to see Dr Stevenson but he's no longer there so she was put with Dr Sean Garrity. The staff was pleasant enough. But the nurses were to somewhat inept.. and the doctor was very inept. Why I say this? When she originally came and saw Dr Stevenson she was told that she had adult onset foviomacular degeneration. He said there's no cure, there's nothing we can do. Sad. When she came back to see Dr Garrity he told her no it's not that it is wet macular degeneration and dry macular degeneration. He gave her a very painful injection in the eye that was wet macular degeneration. They said the pain would only last for a couple minutes but we stayed long afterwards and they kept rinsing her eyes and rinsing her eyes because they were stinging from use of too much betadine. They did not numb her properly either. The injection itself was painful. My mother is stoic, but she nearly jumped out of the chair. I watched Dr Garrity do it and he jabbed her in the eye like you would stab someone with a EpiPen - it was a hammer fist jab into the eye with a needle. They said that the "discomfort" would only last for a few minutes but it did not, it lasted for 3 days of excruciating pain. She was supposed to go back last week but in the meantime I had told my friend whose father gets those injections. She asked her parents if he's ever experienced pain with them and he said no so I found out where they were going I canceled her appointment with Dr Garrity and got her in at a different retina place with a different doctor. We just went today. He explained that it is neither foviomacular degeneration nor is it wet and dry macular degeneration. It is some rare eye problem called Central areolar pigment epithelial dystrophy. Does not require eye injections. And there is something that they can do to help not improve her vision but help her with her quality of life. As opposed to there's nothing we can do. I cannot stress enough: Get a second opinion with a completely different retina place before you allow anybody at this office to stab your family member in the eye with needles. A. they don't do a good job keeping the patients comfortable for invasive eye injections. B. they misdiagnosed my mother two times in that office. C. In that last misdiagnosis they did a very invasive, very painful, and very unnecessary procedure to her. Better yet don't go here at all. Especially don't see Dr Garrity.
