I had to come in for an emergency visit, and Diane was gracious enough to make sure it happened. From the moment I arrived, I felt well cared for. Christina took me back and immediately made me feel comfortable and at home. Ryan did a great job taking the necessary images, and Kate—the bomb assistant—was absolutely amazing! Finally, thank you, Dr. Picciani, for your exceptional care and expertise. You are truly the best! I appreciate everyone for making what could have been a stressful visit such a positive experience.

This office is very well run. The wait time after arrival is minimal. All the technicians are professional but kind and friendly. Dr Picciani is a fabulous ophthalmologist! She is thorough and patient. She answers questions without hesitation. I have sent family members to see her.

Dr Linnet Rodriguez was professional and friendly. She communicated clearly, however her hands were tied and her group didn’t have a facility to schedule an emergency surgery. The exam, the results, and pictures clearly indicated, I needed immediate emergency surgery, however they couldn’t do it. Dr Rodriguez suggested I go to Bascom Palmer, but that was not an option for me. The wait time for our appointment was longer than I liked. We scheduled my surgery two days out, but I knew that was a risk and that I could lose my sight, therefore my wife worked to find a retina surgeon. We found A doctor that performed emergency surgery immediately that day. We canceled all appointments for surgery.

RETINA GROUP (Margate): If you need a Retina Specialist, it's because you need something more specific & delicate than a yearly ophthalmology visit, so for me to get an appt as quickly as I did, was a delight and important to my eye health. . REMEMBER: Your vision may be good but that doesn't mean your eye health is good - there is a significant difference between the two. Don't neglect having your eyes checked by an #Ophthalmologist at least once a year come especially if you have been diagnosed with diabetes PAPERWORK: They streamline the process by making it available online in a portal, so when you arrive, you are merely greeted by staff who don't waste your time. I expected to be there for at least 3+ hours yet, in 2 hours, I was there, thoroughly evaluated, received an unexpected eye injection, which was definitely needed for a combination vitreous and retinal bleed & then scurried on my way with an appt for next month ! #DIABETIC #RETINOPATHY I always suggest that those with diabetes see an ophthalmologist at least once a year from the time they are diagnosed with diabetes, most especially if the diabetes is not controlled. DID YOU KNOW Diabetes least problem is that it has too much sugar in your blood but the worst of it is that that sugar scrapes against your blood vessels, the way a steel wool pad does to your pots and pans: this makes your blood vessels porous so that blood can easily seep through. When this happens, your vision becomes blurry, poor, and sometimes that is because the blood itself is obscuring the vision. Generally, you'll have no idea until this has become advanced. No, you do not want blood in your eyes .. there is successful treatment for such events and there are clinical trials that you can participate in & very effective medications by some prominent companies. I was fortunate to participate in a clinical trial in the past so I'm very familiar with the procedures for diabetic retinopathy and bleeding within the retina and vitreous area and know the importance of managing blood sugar and A1c, not so much for lowering blood sugar but for what that excess blood sugar does to - Eye Health - Cardio-vascular - Peripheral limbs - other organs IMPORTANT If you are having changes in your vision, are diabetic, unsure of blurriness or floaters or perhaps you're taking a new medication and have noticed changes in your vision, it is worth it for you to see an ophthalmologist. When they recommend a Retina Specialist, then there is no other place for you to go than to: RETINA GROUP of FLORIDA **Dr.Lalane did not disappoint. He is young tho seasoned beyond his years, with not only the RETINA but research & clinical trials involving medications to help manage diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, retinol and vitreous bleeding, etc. He has written extensively on these matters and I feel, as a new patient, on the very first day, getting an eye injection that I did not expect, quite safe in his capable hands. **Shout out to his organized, thoughtful and informative staff from those that manage the front office, to the insurance specialist, to Emily, who did my initial intake, Alicia in Imaging, and Kate, who handled my injections & made me sure that I definitely was in the right place @ the right time Thank you for reading my review. Emm June 2026 NOTEWORTHY: Unlike other facilities, they have a retina specialist on call every day, 24/7 for urgent emergencies that can threaten your sight, rather quickly, such as sudden flashes, floaters, or especially retinal detachments.
