Today I took both of my kids to see Dr. Guthrie, and he was truly amazing. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything and was so patient with my 4-year-old daughter. He even had a conversation with her that made her feel comfortable😊 Before we saw the doctor, we met his technician, Landon. She was absolutely wonderful! I loved her sweet, bubbly personality, and my kids adored her. Before we left, the office manager, Vanessa, came over to ask how our visit went and if I had any additional questions. That personal touch meant a lot. I will definitely recommend this practice. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make families feel welcomed, cared for, and supported

Very disappointed with the surprise billing—no one mentioned the extra $50 refraction fee upfront, which feels misleading. When I asked about it, the office manager, Vanessa, was rude and unprofessional instead of helpful.her attitude made it worse and left me feeling like concerns were not taken seriously. It’s unfortunate because Dr. Friedman is excellent, However, the experience is overshadowed by what feels like deceptive office policies and poorly managed incompetent staff. Transparency and professionalism would go a long way in improving patient trust.

TLDR - refused medical care because they said diagnosis code is not a medical condition. Went to a different practice to receive medical care. As a healthcare professional, I would not recommend this practice based on my experience. I called about 3 weeks to make an appt. The person that answered the call refused to allow me to make an appt. Stated the ICD-10 code from our pediatrician and stated "this is not a medical condition that requires an ophthalmologist." Interesting point to make without a patient history. I do not the persons medical credentials to make that determination. Even worse, we have significant medical history for various eye related conditions, as a parent I wanted my child examined by a physician after failing a vision screen. Disappointed this office does not even allow potential patients to make appointments or evaluates the need for medical care without a history. It is one thing to state you are not accepting new patients but that was not the situation. Instead we were seen by a great group in Plantation. That office had excellent bedside manner, kind and welcome office space. There are few pediatric ophthalmologists in south Florida so options are limited but as a healthcare professional, I would not recommend this practice based on my experience.
