Dr. Nicholas Askren gave me the BEST exam I've EVER had. I've only had terrible experiences with eye care specialists in the past and even had anxiety over making the appointment due to the horrific encounters. Dr. Askren took me as a walk-in patient and did my exam right then and there. He was quick, professional and thorough. He asked me my preferred brand of contacts, answered all my questions and was honest about the quality of different brands. I didn't feel like he was constantly attempting to upsell to me and I felt good about the entire encounter. He gave me a free pair of contacts and even a bottle of solution for a brand I've never tried before! He even told me which letters I misread and where I misread them when it occurred. The thing I was most impressed with was that during the exam, as he checked my eyes, he told me what he was looking for and where he was looking for it. I didn't even tell him that I really appreciate knowing that stuff! Usually, I have to ask a bunch of questions to an annoyed optometrist. He has changed my view and expectations when it comes to eye care and I am so grateful for the way he does his job. More doctors should strive to be like Dr. Askren!
