Sam's is using an outside vendor for eye center now. I used to get new lenses or a complete pair yearly. The requirements to receive the membership discounts are too restrictive now. $59. Dollar fee on top of lens cost if you just want to update the perfectly good frames you previously purchased from Sam's. Members plus discount is only for a complete pair of glasses. The nice ladies working there in the past would always replace the worn or stained nose pads on glasses purchased there even past a year without a problem and even provide a thorough cleaning. The gentleman working there now ( Craig ? ) barely looked at my glasses and said replacement nose pads were no longer available even though similar frames are still being sold. Save yourself the hassle and try the Walmart supercenter vision center. They are still Walmart employees and they will be there during their posted working hours unlike Sam's.

DEXTER THE MANAGER IS AMAZING!!!! I walked in with a broken frame. I was using hot glue gun to hold them up. Dexter was able to get me a new frame that same day with my old prescription. While I waited for my new glasses with my new prescription. The next week I was called in to pick up my new glasses. I came in to pick up my glasses and to my surprised. I had a new pair glasses plus he added the lenses to the ones I was wearing! He is so awesome and helpful. They are short staffed so there might be line but they are so helpful and work fast.

I called before my appointment to confirm my appointment time and provide my insurance information. I wasn't told during our phone conversation that there would be any issue with ordering glasses or that I should reschedule my appointment. Upon arrival I was told that no one was available to order glasses until late in the afternoon. One poor employee was trying to rush around and handle all of the business. He was unable to properly use the equipment to obtain my eye pressures. I should have known there was a problem when I called several times prior to my appointment and no one answered the phone. Dr. Peed (who is not a Sam's employee) was great. Part 2: I went to Eyeglass World to fill my prescription as Sam's was unable to order my glasses. The Eyeglass World associate couldn't read the writing on the prescription/said it didn't make sense and Sam's won't answer the phone again to verify. Called Sam's customer service and apparently the only guy working has gone to lunch. Part 3: Continued calling the Sam's optical all afternoon with no answer. Finally called customer service and was told the optical center closed early for the day. Asked to speak to the general manager and after being transferred several times I was able to speak to someone in the optical center. He verified that my prescription was written incorrectly. It was written as +.25 when it should have been 1.50. He promised to fax my new prescription to Eyeglass World. We'll see...... Horrible experience overall.

My experience with Dr Peed and the Sam's staff was wonderful. I made an appointment about 3 days out, then came in and went through everything with Dr Peed. This is my 3rd visit within the past 8 years and each time I was able to get everything I needed. I then ordered one pair of glasses and got a prescription so that I could order a specialty pair of goggles online . Super easy and great prices. I'll be back!

Never go to even pick something up unless you have a ton of time to wait. Ladies are nice but if they are helping others you need to wait until they are completely done. Even for a pick up. We will go elsewhere
