I had a really disappointing experience with Dr Garrett Arizala at Sam’s Club and would not recommend him to anyone, especially if it’s your first time getting contacts. From the beginning, I felt rushed through the entire appointment. The doctor did not explain any part of the eye exam—what he was checking, what he was seeing, or whether my vision had improved or worsened. He was writing things down without communicating anything to me, which made the whole process feel confusing and unprofessional. The equipment also seemed very outdated, which didn’t inspire confidence in the quality of the exam. The most frustrating part was the contact lens portion. This was my first time ever trying contacts, and instead of being patient and guiding me through it, the doctor was visibly impatient. Learning how to put something in your eye is not a quick or easy process, and I felt rushed and uncomfortable the entire time. He spent only a few minutes “explaining” before moving on. At one point, he actually left me mid-process when another appointment arrived, leaving me alone with a contact lens stuck in my eye and no clear instructions on what to do. I had to go to the front desk and ask for help. Thankfully, one of the staff members assisted me and even apologized for his behavior, which says a lot. The doctor never confirmed whether the contacts fit properly, whether I could see clearly, or if everything was okay before charging me and ending the appointment. I left feeling confused, unsupported, and honestly unsure if the exam was even done correctly. Overall, the experience felt rushed, disorganized, and unprofessional. I will be seeking a second opinion elsewhere because I don’t feel confident in the care I received.

To make an appt is by texting the doctor directly only. He asked for personal info over text which I didn't feel comfortable giving considering i had no idea who i was speaking with. Before I can respond with more info he said he was canceling my appt because he "probably" doesn't take my insurance which is hilarious because he never even checked. Very strange and unprofessional mannerisms.
Doctor does not listen to what you tell him during exam, resulting in bad prescriptions. I ended up having to go elsewhere to get the right prescription. The office staff is nice, but this has to be the least accurate prescription I've had in over three decades of wearing glasses.
Been coming here for years. Pleasant and patient staff especially the eye doctor! Just got an updated script for glasses and contacts and no complaints to speak of
Went in for an eye exam walked out with contact prescription issues - vision was blurry. Went back for a check up and nothing has changed. I've never had issues with this in my entire life. Looking elsewhere for my next checkup.
