I scheduled my son’s appointment in March, and the first available appointment wasn’t until August. On the morning of the appointment, I called to verify the address because I had been given conflicting suite numbers. The representative confirmed the wrong suite, which caused us to spend time walking around the entire professional complex trying to find the office. None of the appointment reminders included the office suite number, which only added to the confusion. When we finally found the office, there was a line out the door with one employee handling both check-in and check-out. After waiting approximately 13 minutes just to reach the front desk, I explained that we had been delayed because I had been given the wrong suite number over the phone. Rather than listening, the receptionist repeatedly argued with me. She insisted I hadn’t called, dismissed my explanation by saying it was “probably the call center,” and even disputed how long I had waited in line. At no point did she acknowledge that incorrect information from the practice had caused the situation or offer an apology. I had driven an hour for this appointment and am also visually impaired, which made locating the correct office even more difficult. Instead of showing empathy or trying to find a solution, I was told that I was late, the doctor was significantly behind schedule, and that we would probably have to reschedule after I had already waited nearly five months for this appointment. I cannot comment on the physicians because we never had the opportunity to meet one. However, the receptionist responsible for scheduling, check-in, and check-out is the first impression families have of this practice. She was argumentative, dismissive, and lacked the compassion I would expect from someone working with children and worried parents. Her conduct alone made me decide that I was not comfortable entrusting my son’s care to this office. I hope the practice improves its communication, includes the correct suite number in appointment confirmations, and provides better customer service to families who have often waited months for an appointment.

Horrible experience. My daughter’s appointment had been scheduled since last year, and the office called to reschedule because her doctor would be out for an entire month. The doctor is already barely available, so this was extremely frustrating. What made it worse is that because all of her appointments were canceled, the next available appointment with that doctor isn’t until October. A child should not have to wait that long for a yearly eye appointment because of scheduling issues caused by the office. I asked if my daughter could simply be switched to another doctor due to this inconvenience, and I was told it’s their policy that she must stay with the same doctor she originally started with. I have never heard of such a policy. If I no longer want my child treated by a specific doctor, that should be my choice as the parent. They acted as if they were paying for the visit themselves. Because of this experience, I will be finding a different eye doctor for my child. She also didn’t have great bedside manners. She was always dry and gave off she didn’t want to be there or be a doctor at all. I never experienced that with a doctor. But I tried to look past that but I couldn’t no longer. In fact, they’ve lost multiple patients, because I have other children who also need eye care. Very disappointing experience.
Three back-to-back phone calls in a half an hour, the first call they told me they did not accept our insurance. I called our insurance company and they said they absolutely do accept your insurance. I called back they put me on hold to see if they accept our insurance only to transfer me to someone’s voicemail about paying out-of-pocket. I called third time and this time I said AmeriHealth said you do take our insurance so unless you’re trying to do a cash grab I suggest you look a little deeper. They finally said they can take our insurance but then they couldn’t see us for at least four days. What a joke
When our baseball-loving son broke his arm we were in need of quality care. St. Christopher’s was able to see us the soonest. Couldn’t be happier to have went with them. They treated us with such genuine compassion that we will never forget. You can tell they truly care about the kids they’re treating. We are grateful for such high-quality care.
Dr. wolfe was awesome! But the front staff seems to be impatient and whoever someone name Bill is, was rude and incompetnant. I never thought getting a copy of a doctors note for my sons school would be so complicated. In addition Bill told my son's school nurse he was not clear to wrestle despite the doctors letter saying "cleared for gym and sports" ...his response was the letter did not say "wrestling"...My son missed his last wrestling match due adults at my sons school and this doctors office. -signed a frustrated parent who is just trying to do right by their child!
