Update 2 Is been over 2 months since my eye exam and while I was told by Shopko that they would submit the form to have claim removed, it has not happened. After contacting them today, they supposedly resubmitted the form via email. They couldn’t tell me what email it was sent to and are not sure if they can figure that out. When I asked how I can feel confident that this one was received when the first one wasn’t, I was told “Only time will tell”. Really!?!? Update Shopko is having the.claim for exam removed and processing a refund. When I went to pick up my glasses, the prescription was very wrong. Everything was super blurry. The doctor reexamined my eyes, lessening my prescription. Went to pick up today, and they were still way too strong. I asked for a refund which they did. I inquired about how this would impact my insurance. I was told that they would contact insurance so the claim would be removed and I could get new glasses still. Well, I don’t know how to get new glasses without an accurate prescription. I asked if they were going to let the insurance know to remove the claim for the exam and was told that they couldn’t do that. They said I could pay out of pocket for an exam elsewhere. Seriously!?!? Insurance paid $51. I paid $5. So, for a grand total of $56, they would rather have an unhappy customer than make things right. Shouldn’t an exam come with a proper prescription?!?! Shopko is one hour from my home (2 hours round trip). I have already spent 6 hours driving there and home. If I did another exam, we are talking 4 more hours, if they were to get it right next time. If they don’t make this right, I have to wait an entire year before insurance will allow a claim for an exam. I will update this review, if they have a change of heart (or policy).
