Shopko Optical

My experience at Shopko Optical in Albert Lea was mixed. The staff were friendly and the exam itself seemed professional, so I have no complaints about the basic service. What bothered me was the way extra charges and upgrades were introduced. Several things were presented as “better” options, but it wasn’t always clear that they were add-ons with additional costs. It felt more like upselling than helping the customer make an informed choice. One example was an insurance-type program that was recommended during checkout but had to be run separately because “insurance doesn’t like it.” That explanation didn’t really make sense and came across as a bit shady. Overall, the staff were decent, but the sales tactics and lack of transparency around extra charges made the experience feel uncomfortable.

Jolene was absolutely awesome. We have some really complicated insurance. She was very patient. She talked to the insurance company and everything and got everything straightened out for us. I really appreciate all her help. The doctor is very nice. I would recommend them. I give them a five star.

I come in quite often to fix my pair of glasses. do to having a child and not properly putting away my glasses, my daughter often gets ahold of them. Everytime I come in the shopko optical employees are always very friendly and are willing to to do the best they can to make my expirence quick and delightful 😊 thank you to all of the shopko optical employees!! Location is in albert lea mn crossed from walmart.

Deb was very helpful in helping me select glasses, and she is always happy to assist when I stop in or call for our family’s eye care needs! Beth is great as well! My recent contact order was the wrong prescription (not her error), and she worked quickly to resolve it and order new lenses. Highly recommend this location :)

The exam was easy and quick. Monty helped me pick my frames and she was fantastic. I got two sets and she was very helpful as far as finding something comfortable and telling me what looks good on me. I would highly recommend this location. I also received a 50% off discount on my second pair!
