Yes, I was here for 3 hours BUT I had several tests done before seeing Dr. Sullivan. My appointment was only 1/2 hour behind schedule, and the waiting room was packed. The sign-in receptionist could've been a little more personable, but all others I delt with were very nice. The 2nd waiting room (after your appointment starts and tests are being administered) is very nice. TV, coffee/water available, shades drawn, low light. Definitely designed to make the necessary waiting low stress. Dr. Sullivan is wonderful - if I'd had more concerns I know be would've explained them. That said, my actual time with him was about 15 minutes. I was there for a 2nd opinion for cataract surgery.

There are 2 bad employee "apples" that I would have retrained or even fired. If they're the best that this facility has to offer, I'd rather go elsewhere for treatment. Since the wait is long to be called back, I have plenty of time to observe the facility and staff. One is very "fake" and appears selective on how she speaks to patients. I personally almost went off on her a couple of times. The other one is very unprofessional and talks to patients as if we're in gym class or in the streets. If these two employees continue with their lack of professionalism, then I will say something. However, I fortunately had the pleasure of speaking with one employee during an earlier visit and again during my most recent visit and she still appeared to treat patients with the same respect and care (as she should) regardless of their age or skin color. I worked in customer svc for over 50 yrs and also in the medical field and I know about "kid gloves." The other two employees could learn a lot from her. And when I return, I hope that same employee is there to assist. Dr. Sullivan is awesome!

Dr. Sullivan is wonderful and he did surgery on my detached retina. Going back for follow up check ups is like going to hell. You’re there for at least 2 to 3 hours. The staff could really use some training in treating people better. They put some kind of IV dye in me and when I asked repeatedly what it was for they wouldn’t respond. They push your head all over the place as if you’re a ragdoll Without ever explaining what the hell they are doing, and why. Furthermore they do not clean and sanitize the equipment that your face is on. It is always a nightmare. I would rather go blind than step foot in that office again.

Do not go here. They expect you to wait a minimum of 2 1/2 -3 hours to see the doctor even with a scheduled appointment. Never in the last 10 years between south florida to Wisconsin and Illinois have I ever had to be at a retina specialist for that long. Even when needing to be dilated for an eye shot have I ever waited that long. The check in staff are also rude and do not seem to want to be there or are open to looking for other appointment times when booking the next appointment. They simply say that’s when he wants to see you and what is open. Why have scheduled appointments when no matter what you wait 3 hrs. Terrible service compared other medical staff I have experienced in north Florida. There is also only one doctor in the office trying to service regular appointments and emergency visits. There is obviously a scheduling problem within the office.

My husband had a hole in his retina and Dr. Agee & staff worked us in without hesitation. Everyone was very nice and made our visit less stressful. Thank you Southeastern Retina Specialists.
