This place baffles me. We have never been here without a 40-60 minute delay that they don't tell you about until after you arrive. You are basically held hostage because if you speak up about it they threaten that rescheduling will be months before they'll get you in again. And the cuase for the delay? Other patients from a nother doctor was rescheduled over your time. We ended up in there for 3 hours. 3 hours for an appointment that should have been less then an hour. Don't make plans after your appointment, you won't make them. This is my experience from several visits. This is not a one time complaint. If there was other options for the service we need trust me we would not be here. To be clear, I'm not blaming the doctors, but the management.

The quality of customer service has gone down so much I'd rather pay premium prices at the mall. I've been using them for 15 years, but I can no longer tolerate 40+ minute hold times (if they even answer); the months long wait for regular check ups; the hour long lingering in waiting rooms. If you need to call, prepare to spend up to an hour of your life on hold. even if you're trying to call the office to say you're running 15 minutes late. You won't get through to anyone. You'll miss your appointment. And it will be your fault. After I finally stayed patient long enough to get reach a scheduler, they were scheduled out to late October. I laughed and hung up. I went to the mall. I was seen within 15 minutes, I got my glasses in 5 days, I scheduled a follow up appointment four weeks out. The doctor is getting my records and I am moving forward with him. Last & perhaps worst, the forms they require are full of invasive questions about my reproductive health, my sex life, my menstrual cycles, and my mental health. I don't care how valid/legal/appropriate the eye clinic thinks these questions are, I am here for two things. My eyes. The left one, & the right one. The fact that an eye clinic is still requiring details about a woman's reproductive health is pretty messed up when you think about it. Can you people evolve already? Stop that. It's gross.
My 1 year old son was referred by his pediatrician to this eye clinic a week and a half ago, and I had been calling and no one was answering or reaching out. I left a voicemail waited for their call and nothing. Finally on 7/17 the triage nurse answered the call. I explained I had been calling and waiting for a call back, I told her it’s been almost 2 weeks since my son got referred and that he needs to be seen for his eye and ear because since he was born it’s been tearing and irritated from all that green stuff that he gets around his eye and even gets swollen. His ear is also connected to that eye problem so he has an infection in his ear, to which she didn’t even care, said she could “possibly” call me Monday, and I asked why possibly Monday? She said ma’am, to get him schedule. I asked why possibly Monday it’s urgent and she said “you’re being disrespectful” and hung up on me. Totally disrespectful, no mercy or interest in helping my child. After waiting 2 weeks this is what they do. So disgusting how people could act like that knowing there are others in need.
Decent enough people but I scheduled my kids' appointments three months ago, been waiting very patiently, confirmed the appointments last week, then the day of our appointments I received a call that they over scheduled and had to set new appointments for another month out. We are now looking for a different office, they are clearly unable to handle the patient load they have.
My experience at this Spokane Eye Clinic was very unpleasant. I'm finishing my Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and I had my last final exam the day before coming in, so I may have looked a little disheveled and exhausted. I was in a dark toned sweatshirt and sweatpants, and my beard wasn't all the way trimmed, which may have factored into how I was treated. I was treated very poorly by a few staff members. Dr. Noakes walked in, spent less than 5 minutes checking my eyes, disregarding my feedback, rushing me, and had almost no regard for my comfort or future wellbeing of my eye health. Other staff members made me feel dumb for asking questions, looked me up and down with judgy looks, and consistently questioned my decisions regarding my choices. I was questioned multiple times about my choice of glasses and was made to feel uncomfortable regarding my decision (I just wanted what my insurance covered as I wear contacts 95% of the time). It felt extremely impersonal, unprofessional, and money hungry. I did however have two staff members who treated me exceptionally well. First was the assistant Hailey who had already checked all of my vision related tests and set up the phoropter to be perfect for my eyesight. Dr. Noakes disregarded her work (and my communication that I was really pleased with the adjustment), then spent 4 minutes readjusting, and providing a worse end result on the phoropter than she did while also disregarding my feedback constantly. It felt very rushed and impersonal- and as a patient, I felt like I was treated terribly. All this was in stark contrast to Hailey who was personable, listened to all of my feedback, and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Second was the Doctor who helped with my contact lense fitting. I never caught his name, and couldn't read his name tag because my eyes were dilated. He took me on last minute to make sure I fit into his schedule (though I could tell he was busy), spent a lot of extra time walking me through everything, listened to all of my input, patiently waited for me to find important details, and explained as much as he could, making me confident in his decisions for my future eye health. It was some of the best service I've received- much better than my actual doctor. I wish I caught his name, but he had glasses, was bald with a beard, and wore a WSU sweater. If my review was based off of these two interactions- I would've given a 5 star review. However, the polar opposite treatment I received from most of the staff was enough for me to feel terrible about my eye health and my decisions about my eye health. For these reasons- I have a one star review. Considering my eyesight is one of the most important factors to my daily life- I can not recommend the services I received. The good treatment I did receive felt like the exception, not the rule. Absolutely unprofessional, rude, impersonal, and so, I can not in good faith recommend Spokane Eye Clinic.
