Staff is very friendly and helpful when you’re there. Having no glasses almost six months after ordering is unacceptable. Ordered on 2/2/24 and as of 7/15/24, still no word on their arrival. Setting the expectation of a long wait is one thing, but setting an expectation of 6-8 weeks and delivering nothing to this point is borderline breach of contract, and is full on breach of trust. Even if I eventually get the glasses for which I paid plenty, and it feels like that’s a BIG IF, no one in my family will never do business with #StandardOptical again.

I paid $504.96 for custom lenses on 5/28/2024. It is now 9/13/2024 and I have still not received my custom lenses. When I paid for them I was told they were three weeks back ordered, which was fine with me, but now months later I still haven’t received my lenses. The manager, Hawk, stated on the phone a few days ago that she could not give me a refund because “they have switched suppliers and now they are only three weeks backlogged”. She also told me she would contact me today 9/13/2024, two days after my phone call, but she failed to call me with an update on the status of when my lenses would be done. Lying to a combat veteran on 9/11, this place is a real class act. I will be reporting Ms Hawk and the company for insurance fraud and to The Better Business Bureau. The idea that a company and its management can take $504 from a person and then deny them the product they paid for and then deny them a refund is absurd at best and criminal at worst. These lenses are how I see and function in the world, they are not some nonsense object.
Wish I had read the reviews on this place before I gave them my money. 10 week out on glasses and they say they can’t get an update from the lab but tell ME to keep following up with them. When you call you’re lucky if you get through because it rings and rings then hangs up on you. Go literally anywhere else. Physician has no bedside manor and whoever I keep talking to isn’t helpful. The person who helped me pick out the glasses was great but 10 weeks later my opinion is soured. Edited to add: never did get through to them on the phone so I finally went in and they said they were having issues with their phones. Duh. The front desk lady said whoever took my order never submitted my order, along with all the other patients she helped. So in 10 weeks no one could tell me my glasses were never ordered?? They said they would submit it as a rush order but they still couldn’t give me a timeline. 🙄 So I told them to cancel my order and refund me. The lady said she was new but would reach out to her leadership about it. I was refunded but the point was to get new glasses so I will never go back and do not recommend this place.
I wish I read the reviews… I had the frame but ordered prescription lenses put in early Dec.2023. I paid full price cost about $400. I was told 4-6 weeks… 8 weeks in, I called and was told 10-12wks they are behind… now I’m afraid it’s even going to be longer based on the review. Update: 3/18/24 Officially over 3 months now. Still don’t have my glasses. I have called and spoke with their manager several times and was informed that they have gotten new contract for a lab. She was supposed to call me back to give status… I have not received any calls. I don’t know what to do…who do I file a complaint to?🤦♀️
Friendly staff! They explained what my insurance covered. Didn’t have to wait long to get the eye exam done. They did allow me to have my granddaughters prescription to take else where to get them done that day so that she would have her new glasses for school but also allow her eyes to get use to the new prescription.
