First of all the price is not as advertised. After testing and some add ons we spent hundreds of dollars for each pair of glasses for my wife and I. The glasses did not turn out right for both of us, but Stanton Optical in Santee told us we could not get a refund since it had already been over 30 days. The 30 days they told us was from the date we ordered the glasses. Not picked them up. Even though the glasses weren't picked up for almost 2 weeks later we were told it was from the date first ordered. I called corporate who told me that Santee was doing it wrong. The guarantee starts from the day the glasses were picked up. Corporate gladly gave us every penny back and even told our insurance company that we did not get an exam so we could start all over again somewhere else. Corporate was great! 5 stars. The Santee store only gets 1. They don't know their own rules.

I have being going for years. This year they sold me extra services and whe I pick my frames they wanted to charge me a lot more than advertised. The original $79 was a bait. I returned for the results for fry eye exam and they just told me to use artificial tears, didn't give the results. I end buying glasses at at diferent place for much better price.
Walked in telling her I was only interested in the “2 glasses + eye exam for $79”. Long story short, I paid $118 and did not come home with any glasses. I was told that the frames would be an additional $100 because I required thinner lenses. Then after deciding to take my prescription elsewhere and just pay for the exam, an additional $39 was added. I asked why and she said that I had a special test done. I told her no one mentioned this to me and she said “ well it’s only $39”. I feel gross. I’m really upset that they got away with it. The woman was making me feel bad for not having insurance and kept asking questions that were unhelpful. UPDATE: I was contacted by the regional manager who sincerely apologized for my experience. I appreciate his care and attention towards the matter. Hopefully he helps to align his staff on an ideal customer experience.
I needed a repair on glasses and I was helped immediately by Jose once I came in. Fantastic service by Jose as he was very professional and accommodating. Although this was a good interaction with Jose, it’s important to note that I was constantly watched by management throughout the store as I waited for my glasses to be repaired. Great interaction with Jose but very uncomfortable experience that customers should not receive.
I want to start by saying the staff was great and this review in no way reflects them. I've gotten my eye exam and glasses here for quite a few years and its always been affordable. But the last time I went, I did the exam and added on the special 3D eye scanner, knowing that was an additional charge of about $40. Exam is done via telehealth (never even talked to the telehealth doctor) and then I'm sent to look for frames. I find a pair I like for about $80 and head up to the counter to select lenses. I select single vision, blue light and anti glare. That's it. Nothing crazy. No transitions, not polarized and my Rx is not extreme. I am qouted over $570! Absolutely insane. I turn down the glasses and pay for the exam with added scan, a total of almost $120, and leave. I just ordered two pairs of glasses with single vision, blue light blocking and anti glare for $107 from Zenni. The exact same thing I had requested at Stanton for one pair of glasses at a fraction of the cost. I will not be returning to Stanton due to the insane price increases.
