Went here for the first time. They have plenty of new items when I went. The crowd is kind of high in here but the billing que keeps moving quickly. Overall I think this Polaris branch is better and have more options than the other Columbus stores.
Got a Costco membership for Christmas and apparently also signed up for a stress test. The parking lot is a demolition derby with shopping carts — honking, cutting people off, and zero organization. Inside, people just park themselves in the middle of aisles and block entire sections like it’s their living room. The checkout line wrapped all the way to the back of the store. I’ve tried twice and both times were enough. Not worth the headache. I’ll be getting a membership refund.
Very crowded, but it is Saturday. I was underwhelmed about the high (higher than grocery stores. I'll stick to Meijer on Polaris. No they don't have furniture, but they do have a lot of other home items as well as great groceries and produce. They are also more helpful at Meijer.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience trying to purchase Majesty Palms from Costco. Before leaving home, I called the Steltzer Road (Easton) location and was told they had 15 Majesty Palms in stock for $44 each. I live about 30 miles away, but I made the trip anyway. When I arrived, I was told they had none. The explanation was that the inventory likely reflected returned plants that had already been destroyed. An employee then checked inventory for the Polaris Parkway location and told me they had 39 in stock. I drove another 8.9 miles to that warehouse, only to discover they didn’t have them either. After searching the garden area, I asked an associate for help. She went back and forth trying to find information before directing me to the membership desk. There, I spoke with Gabe, who identified himself as the manager. He confirmed their system showed 39 Majesty Palms but said they were “probably” all returns that had been destroyed. When I asked if anyone could check the coolers, back room, or other areas where plants are sometimes stored, I was told I was welcome to search the warehouse myself. Asking a customer to search your warehouse because your inventory is inaccurate is not acceptable, especially coming from the store manager. I wasted over 60 miles of driving(round trip)in a diesel truck that with today’s fuel cost, all because I trusted the inventory that I specifically called ahead to verify. This wasn’t an impulse trip; I did exactly what a customer should do before making a long drive. I spend well over $10,000 a year at Costco, but experiences like this make it hard to believe the “valued member” message. Accurate inventory and customer service matter. If the inventory can’t be trusted, employees should say so instead of sending customers on a needless trip. From now on, I’ll be shopping locally, where businesses value my time as much as my business.
