I had the worst experience on March 16th at Stokes. My original appointment was February 13th and I was sent a letter stating that my appointment was rescheduled for March 16th at 3pm. I called to see if I could come in earlier because the weather was bad and I was done with my other appointment. I was told that if I came early I still may still not be seen early. I arrived at 2:30 the check in person informed me that I would be seeing hunter Stokes instead of Mark Stokes. I asked her had Mark Stokes retired and she said no he's off today. She said have a seat in the blue waiting area and someone will call you. The person called me to the back and when she saw that I was seeing hunter she said they have you with the wrong dr and I told her what the check in person said. She then called someone and said she's waiting on that person to call her back. She decided to go to the person. The two came back and wanted me to come back up front. I explained to them that my appointment was rescheduled from this office. The person that the young lady called was talking to someone on the phone. I told her that I was leaving and would never be returning to this office She then said hunter is going to see you. I was going to be seen, why was I brought up front again and I was already in the back. I felt like I was treated like I had the plague or some other disease. I've been seeing Mark Stokes for maybe 10 yrs years and never had that happened before. I will never come back to this office

Went in for my annual eye appointment and was charged 94.00 a month later bc they filed under my medical insurance. When I called to ask why it wasn't filed under my vision insurance company VSP (vision service plan) they said they didn't know that I had VSP and would not refile under vision because they said that they could be charged insurance fraud. Very unhappy bc I pay very high premiums every two weeks to have a $0 deductible for an annual eye checkup.
My husband and I brought our son who is special needs in and the staff were very good with him and his care. I feel since they took such calm care not to scare him it made the appointment overall a more positive experience for him :)
If you're expecting prompt customer service, I'm sorry to inform you, you will NOT get it at Stokes Eye Center. My mother has been going there for years and at one time the service was good. My mother would take me there as a child and the optometrists were efficient and got their patients in and out at a reasonable time. Well, things have changed and those dependable optometrists are no longer there. My mother had an appointment today at 9:30am. Why is it 11:30am and she STILL has NOT seen Dr. Lyttle! She went to talk to an office manager and they gave an excuse of there was an emergency. Are they about to perform eye surgery?! This lethargic service has been going on for years! It's clear they do not care about people's time. I told her this will be the LAST time she will utilize their service!
DO NOT GO HERE! VERY RUDE! Dr. Stokes has been very dismissive & making slick comments since the very first appointment. At her most recent & LAST appointment he told me my child’s eyes were not turning in, he said “her nose is wide so it looks like it is” which is not true!!! He also said because he couldn’t make her do it after he appointment, that it was nothing he could do, even after multiple pictures shown at the appointment. His nurse even agreed that her RIGHT EYE was turning in! Upon my mom commenting, he told her “this what we do & if you want a second opinion I can send you to someone else.” Do not go here and definitely don’t trust them with your CHILDS eye care! As a young parent, I felt discriminated against & dismissed. I’m not surprised that they have a low rating!
