My husband works at Ford and their insurance includes a plan with SVS in Liberty, MO. Aside from the free eye exams, there really isn’t much benefit to using their services. They advertise “free” glasses, but good luck finding a pair you’d actually want to wear. The free frames are extremely limited, and the free lenses don’t include basic coatings like anti-glare or scratch resistance. Since the frame options were so poor, I decided to use the “free” lenses in an old pair of frames as a backup pair of glasses. After adding my prescription and anti-glare coating, those “free” lenses ended up costing nearly $200. When I eventually needed to wear my backup glasses, I realized that the coatings I paid for had only been applied to one lens. I contacted the store to see if anything could be done, but I was told no because it had been 16 months since the purchase. While I understand I should have noticed sooner, these were a spare pair, and this was clearly an error on their end. I would have hoped for better customer service and at least some effort to help resolve the issue, but there was none. We’ve since stopped using SVS. Their so-called “discounts” often end up costing the same or more than going elsewhere. If you’re a fellow Ford employee thinking this is a great benefit, I’d recommend looking around before committing. Be aware that even though they comment that they will be in touch to help with a resolution, it's a lie. No one has contacted me and I'm fairly sure it's a bot.

Giving a one star is generous but zero isn’t an option I had a horrible experience with SVS Liberty they were recommended on my eye insurance website.. I selected a frame and ordered my glasses. I was told they’ll be here in 2 weeks. After 4 weeks I called, was told no, you have VSP insurance and we have to use their lab instead of our lab so we don’t get updates but they can take longer. I Ishouldn’t have been told 2 weeks it should have been a realistic time and I would like to cancel my order. They told me only the doctor could cancel my order. A few days later the manager called me saying he had checked on my order, the glass wasn’t available that was ordered so if I still wanted the glasses the glass they were subbing was glass and I would get $77 refunded. They were also putting a rush on and they WOULD be here in 2 weeks…. I waited 3 weeks then called. I was told there not here but you have VSP insurance that can take longer. I replied I talked to the manager 3 weeks ago and he explained the issue and stated they were starting my glasses putting a rush on it and I would have them in 2 weeks. Their response was there not here you have VSP insurance I responded then cancel them and they said you have to come in person to cancel them. I advised them they have a 100% guarantee policy and I wanted to cancel. The next week the manager called to say he would cancel the glasses but the problem was they glasses did not pass the inspection so they had to remake them, they had shipped and should be there within a couple days. If I didn’t cancel he was sure he could take $200 - $225 off because they had completely failed me. I got a call on a Thursday almost 9 weeks after my order was placed saying my glasses were in then she said Oh the manager wanted to look at your glasses personally before you were contacted he isn’t here and I don’t when he will be here not today or tomorrow. I replied so I am suppose to wait til whenever after waiting 9 weeks. She told me You are not a nice person he is sick it is not not fault he can’t be here I waited a week and went in to look at my glasses. I said I wanted to look at my glasses had the manager been in this week. She said yes, but your glasses are being inspected by the doctor and he is with someone so you’ll have to wait. I stood there…waiting and she said the doctor has your glasses you’ll have to wait. I waited she got the glasses. This was was I would call a ice cold rude experience! Making me feel like it was horrible to have to help me. She finally asked do they work.”. I could only see part of the card she gave me to read. She advised you might need to wear them a few days to get used to them. I asked if Robert, the manager had mentioned the price and she said Yes, he is working on it, but he isn’t here. I told her I am not taking the glasses without knowing his resolution. Robert called me the next week very excited stating I have something you want. I told him I know they called over a week ago and I personally came in last week and they said you had been in. I also told him they said he was working on the price. Robert told me has was asking corporate to approved a $100 credit in addition to the $77 credit for the sub lense, he would know by 10 am the next day and he would call me. At 2 pm I called SVS and asked if Robert was there….NO. I went to SVS the next day, they said Can I help you to which I replied I can to cancel my glasses. A man said have a seat. It was the manager Robert who said I was just getting ready to call you. He told me , the $100 was approved and I told him after thinking about the entire process I could not give them my business that gives false time frames has employees that considers it OK to tell you that you aren’t a nice person and blame the insurance on the delays. I had VSP insurance the day I placed my order. I will never go back to SVS and I will tell anyone asking about glasses I would not go there. Eye doctor - good Product bad Customer service horrendous

SVS has always been a go-to. However, I showed up today and my appointment had been canceled. When reviewing my call logs, I had a voicemail to confirm my appointment, nothing about needing to reschedule or even a missed call. Next appointment that was available was April. Sorry, not impressed. I found a new provider, that took me as a new patient and took my insurance this afternoon. Sorry SVS, i'm done.

This is the worst pair of progressive glasses I have ever had. I went to another provider and they said the prescription was not even close. Also they didn't use a lense meter and my reading sight in the lense was not in the prescription lenses they gave me for $380.00. They would not make good on making them over. Do not use svs for your glasses.

This place is amazing. Staff is attentive, staff is observant. They're very helpful, very polite when you walk in. The door feels like a family. The experience was amazing. Walking in that day was the best thing. I've ever done thank you guys.
