Better patient scheduling is needed. There is no reason patients should have to wait over an hour in the reception area before beginning called back into and exam room; then to wait another 20 to 30 minutes to see the Dr. This is not a one time thing but consistent in both the Griffin and Locust Grove locations. The tech confirmed that this has been an ongoing problem. NO ONE enjoys having their time wasted like this. I actually felt sorry for the staff, they all seemed scared to speak out about the problem!

I have had two appointments with Takle Eye Group, one in Griffin and the other in Locust Grove. I have been billed for services not received both times! They’ve moved their billing department overseas so you get to talk to someone who doesn’t even work in the office if you want to clear things up. I will be finding a new doctor. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
My first appointment was last year and I was there for almost 3 hours for an eye exam. I left frustrated but thought it was just an "off day". Today, I went for my yearly exam and waited for an hour and still had not been called back. There were three patients ahead of me who had not yet been called. This is unacceptable and disrespectful of the time of the patients. I looked around the waiting room and observed several elderly patients, waiting for hours for their turn. Many were asleep because they had been waiting for so long. Scheduling patients does not require high-level math. Calculate how many patients you actually SEE in and hour and ONLY schedule that number of patients, not 3-4x that number. I take my parents to a similarly-sized practice in Fayetteville and we have never been in the office for over an hour, with BOTH of them being seen. I am moving my records to that office, it's worth the drive to Fayetteville b/c I'll still be home in less time. Come join me at Eye Consultants of Atlanta, they respect your time.
I went to TEC bc of eye discomfort. Dr. Shekoury and staff were fantastic. From the front desk to my eye exam, the team communicated clearly. Left with confidence and next steps! 5⭐️
I had cataract surgery in Jan. and February of this year. Both surgeries I was required to pay the difference that the insurance did not pay. After the surgery I experienced some issues that were addressed during my follow up appointment. I was scheduled another follow up appointment in a month. Today I went to that appointment. The receptionist informed me of my co payment and I said no problem. She went on to inform me that I had an outstanding balance. I informed her that I had paid my responsibility for both surgeries at the time of service and I wasn’t aware of a balance. She made a phone call and she informed me that it was a balance that the insurance didn’t pay. She went on to tell me that the balance was due today or I would not be seen on today. The balance was over $500 dollars. I informed her that I was not prepared or able to pay this entire amount. She told me that how Dr. Tackle has it set up that you can’t be seen without paying in full. Mind you I am here to have my eyes checked from a procedure that had been performed. I told her fine and I informed her that if I suffered any further damage to my eyes it was going to be a problem. I was about to leave and she told me to wait. She went and spoke to someone in the back and she came back and said they would see me but she made it crystal clear they if the balance wasn’t paid by my next visit I would not be seen. I have been to several doctors during my 66 years knee replacement, breast cancer and I have never had the experience of being told I would not receive treatment because of an outstanding balance. I pray that I don’t ever need this practice service for anything!! Both surgeries went well and I was pleased with the professionalism of Dr. Tackle and his staff at the surgery center but if this is how you treat someone because of a balance I was not aware of, will not return or recommend this practice to anyone.
