The only reason I’m leaving a three star and not a one Star Is because they were able to give us the same day appointment, which we appreciated. We don’t normally go to this location. We had to drive into town 30 minutes. The check-in lady was nice. They were promptly on time for us which was also good. The nurse was not mean, but not very happy or engaging with us, maybe because it was late in the day. But it was the Dr Lane that I feel should have been nicer and understanding - he had terrible bedside manner with my 92-year-old mother. He surely did not do his best to speak nicely to her, and was very curt. We told him thank you for seeing this on short notice and that she normally goes to another location for Texan Eye, and named the doctors that we’ve seen normally. One of her doctors even works in the location where he is. He didn’t seem to care, or be nicer to us because of that. He asked why we were here, and yet the nurse had already written that down in her chart, and he didn’t pay attention. She said she felt like she has something in her eye. He then he told her to put her head back and put a drop in my mother‘s eye without telling her what it was. Usually they will tell you what drops they are putting in your eye. Then what happened next, I thought was totally uncalled for for a professional. My mother has trouble keeping her eyes open during an eye apt, because she has sensitivity to light. So he had trouble looking in her eye with the apparatus. He was very put off with the fact that she could not keep from blinking, and kept telling her not to blink. Then he attempted to hold her eye open with his thumb, and had trouble and then he actually said “Mamm, you have the strongest eyelid that I’ve ever had In a patient” - And it was NOT said in an endearing way-(as if to tease her) …but as if she did it on purpose. I thought that was the rudest thing someone could say to an elderly lady who was having an issue with her eye. He did not spend very much more time and acted like he was in a hurry to get out of there, and said that she does not have an infection, and told us we had to go see a cornea specialist and to make another appointment. Of course that did not help her with the feeling like something is in her eye. This is the second bad experience that we’ve had with the Balcones location of Texan Eye. The other doctor retired. You all can do better. If you are Medicare doctors, you should know how to treat the elderly.

Zero respect for anyone's time. A 2-hour appointment took 4. Cold and crowded waiting room with nothing to eat or drink. I was a driver and they wasted half my day. I am fully aware that delays can happen, but they do nothing to keep people comfortable, and virtually every patient needs someone to drive them. As for the patient, he had not had anything to eat or drink for 15 hours by the time he received his procedure. I won't be coming back here as a patient.

I wasn't happy with the care, results from a bad lazer or Dr Osa. I still cant see good out of my right eye and they seem worse then before I went there. They don't even give you paper work explaining what they did to you for 900 dollars. I would never put anyone in harms way by referring Texan Eye on mopac.

I wanted to share some candid feedback about the check-in process—it was extremely frustrating. The system felt impersonal and inefficient. Despite having multiple team members present and seemingly available, I was left waiting in a queue and asked to re-enter the same information multiple times. It felt like there was no real human connection, which is disappointing—especially when a simple interaction with a staff member could have streamlined everything. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to return. I hope you’ll consider re-evaluating the process to make it more personal and efficient.

Called to get information on cataract surgery, person that answered had initially no idea what I was talking about. Then she told me there would be multiple appointments and she wasn't sure if the surgery would be on the 2nd or 4th appointment. I had mentioned I would be coming from out of town and she said that would be fine but there would be no way to know when appointments would open or how many appointments would be needed. Personally I would rather work with a company that at least hired people with a semblance of intelligence regarding their services. Then after reading all the one star reviews I am glad to have had this experience. Saved me a bunch of hassle in the long run.
