Very pleased with how we, and our child, were treated. Special thank you and appreciation goes out to Amy in recovery. Our daughter was up and we were afraid she would be crying all by herself after surgery. We walked in the room and Amy was holding her in her arms like our daughter was hers. She was comforting her. Thank you Amy for all the love you showed our family, you truly care! God bless you, your family, and employees. Happy holidays. Thank you for taking great care of our baby!
Everyone was genuinely friendly and caring, from the front desk staff to the recovery room nurse. This made a stressful day a little less stressful for both me and my daughter. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took care of my baby girl before, during, and after her surgery. You all are wonderful! Hopefully no more surgeries in the future, but if we do, I'll request that it is performed at the Texas Pediatric Surgery Center.
My doctor is wonderful and the nurses there are great! However, I have no clue what the front office is doing. I was unbelievably annoyed when, after already waiting for 2 hours, I asked the front desk how much longer before my kid’s surgery. She looked at her computer screen and said, about 20-30 minutes. Turns out, she tells that to everyone! Our doctor wasn’t even at the surgery place yet! Why couldn’t they just tell all of us waiting for the same doctor in the waiting room that the doctor had not arrive yet? I would have been way happier if she just said, “your doctor had an emergency come up and he has not yet arrived. We will let you know when he arrives and starts taking patients back”. End of the story: we were there for 7 hours for a procedure that takes 10 minutes plus 15 minutes prep and 30 minutes to wake up. On the plus said, I was able to watch 4 1/2 Disney movies, if you consider that a plus.
Dr. Vories is an awesome doctor, to the point, and confident with his decisions. He is the only reason why we saw him for tubes in our son's ear, but I have never seen a lack of bedside manners in any front desk like this one and honestly some dishonest issues on the finances that everyone needs to be aware of. My son had surgery Dec 29th. I paid 50% of the fee upfront that day with my debit card and was requested to make payment for the rest before 01-29-22. I told the front desk to bill me after insurance because we might have met our deductible for my son before the end of the year. I did not sign a form to hold my credit card number nor was there a payment plan established (not needed). I received the invoice for the remaining amount the week of the Jan 24th and I paid promptly with ACH (bank account not card) before the 29th. On 01-29-2022 my credit card was ran again for the exact same amount without my consent. I was forwarded to two separate billing departments and neither of them knew that my credit card was held to make payment without authorization and agreed it should not have happened. The last individual credited my account immediately for that same amount after I mentioned my attorney getting involved. Just like every other doctor and facility you a portion of the expected fee then you file insurance and you wait until the patient makes payment or requests a plan. Its not acceptable to run peoples credit card without their consent. I hope this facility sees this review.
