Dr. Gibson has always been amazing and ensures to check if my Brain condition is affecting my eyes. When I needed to update the prescription in my glasses, I wanted to keep my existing frames. I asked for sample contact lenses just for vacations and occasional use so I could wear my non-prescription sunglasses. Dr. Gibson gave me samples without hesitation and even told me not to order contacts because she knew my history of not being comfortable wearing them. When I completed my payment, Jared told me it would be $180 because they were saving my insurance benefits for contacts. After I explained that I would not be ordering contacts and only needed the samples Dr. Gibson had provided, I asked that my lenses be billed through my insurance instead. Jared made some changes on the computer but then told me it would still be $180. I paid but was never given an explanation of what I was actually paying for. A week later, my lenses arrived, and I went in to have them installed in my existing frames. Through no fault of the employee assisting me, my frames broke during the process. Marci was very apologetic and said they would order replacement frames and try to have them overnighted so I would not be without my glasses for long. After a week with no update, I called to check on the status. During the call, I overheard someone in the office say, “I told her I would call when they came in.” Three days later, I received a call saying they could not get my original frames, despite previously telling me they would attempt to overnight them. They offered to order the frames in a different color, so I settled for black, although it was not the color I would have chosen. After being without my glasses for two weeks, I requested an itemized receipt and another update. I was told someone would call me back, but no one did. I went to the office the following day to request the same information in person. While I was there, I overheard Marci expressing annoyance that I had come in and saying she didn’t understand why I was upset. When I reviewed the itemized receipt, I noticed my insurance had not been billed for the contact lens exam, during which I only received sample contacts, nor had it been billed for my eyeglass lenses. I was told the insurance specialist was on vacation and that they would check to see whether a refund was appropriate because the billing did not appear to be correct. Marci tried to explain my bill, but it seemed confusing to her as well. Marci was always kind to work with, but it was very upsetting to come in seeking answers and overhear comments questioning why I was there instead of simply addressing my concerns. The next day, I was called and told my glasses were ready to be picked up. I immediately went to get them, but none of my billing concerns were addressed. After trying on the new glasses, I realized I did not like them and was visibly upset. Once again, I left without any resolution. My frustration comes from the fact that I could have ordered the same replacement frames online for approximately $115. Instead, whenever I expressed my concerns, I was repeatedly reminded that I was “getting a free pair of glasses.” However, replacing my glasses was never my choice. My original frames were accidentally broken, and I was left with a pair in a color I did not want. I completely understand that my frames breaking was an accident, and initially I was not upset about that. My frustration stems from how the situation was handled afterward. I still have no answers as to why my insurance was not billed correctly, and I am left with glasses that I am unhappy with. This is the second issue I have experienced with Eye Center of Paducah. After emailing the office manager, Jared, on December 4, 2024, regarding my previous concerns, those issues were never addressed either. Dr. Gibson, Dr. Davis, and Hailey have always been wonderful to work with. Unfortunately, because of the customer service I received, I am not sure my family and I will be returning.
I gave 2 stars because the doctor i seen was great but the pratice as a whole, and the rest of the staff is not good. My doctor requested for me to have lenses with a specific coating (same for the last 15 years) they never brought it up, and when I left I relized it. I emailed the next day never got a reply. I called again and they said my insurance doesnt allow anything extra even if I paid out of pocket, thats never ever been the case. Ive always paid the 30 dollars for it. (which I have for all my glasses wearing life.) It was too late for me to cancel them, glasses I wont be happy with, because they aren't medically up to grade for me. I can't tell you enough, I strongly do not recommend this office. I hope the doctor leaves.
Dr Gibson is the best! She was excited about helping me find the perfect bifocal contacts after another Dr told me I would have to switch to glasses full time. I am now over the moon happy with both my glasses and contacts and see better than I thought possible. My prescription wasn’t near as strong as the other Dr prescribed! If you want the best, go to Dr Gibson!!!
Dr Gibson is the best, she takes the best care of our entire family of 5 generations. She is so smart, really takes time with her patients to make sure they have the best vision possible. The office staff are the best. Highly recommend.
