Joined in the 5k/1k run walked, and with the campus being so beautiful like the day, I took the 5k walk. I work for a great organization that is affiliated, and I will do this agai; however, I will stop longer to get better acquainted with those beautiful horses

My therapist currently here is a younger woman around my age but every psychiatrist I have seen, namely Angie who they obscured why she was changed from my doctor, and also Jennifer, who told me after being told to name my SA abuser to her and a brief detail told me to go to inpatient and told me that my speech patterns showed I needed medication to not feel so upset about the violence I faced towards men and also while in other inpatient hospitals with clear evidence. I will not be returning here at all. I also have physical documentation of being physically spinally injured with a herniation and nerve damage, and clear evidence of focal seizures and nocturnal ones from assaults. This psychiatrist I just saw today made me name my abuser out loud and triggered my trauma response to make me cry. This is not healthy practice to then tell me my reactions to my accounts within an hour intake are bipolar aligned. This psychiatrist made me speak of most of all my traumatic experiences the past two years and I had never met her before. Very patronizing staff and it left me feeling very hurt in which my doctor told me “it wasn’t her intention”. Impact of experiences like that last a very long time.
I wanted to take a moment to share our heartfelt experience with the Woods System of Care Rehabilitation Center, where my grandchild Leo has been living for the past year. Initially, I had my doubts after reading various reviews online, unsure if this was the right place for him. After spending six months in the hospital across four different stays and enduring numerous emergency room visits, our family was desperate for a solution. Leo, who is severely nonverbal and has significant health issues alongside his autism, exhibited numerous challenging behaviors that posed risks to himself and those around him. However, my perspective shifted dramatically when Leo began his journey at Woods. From the moment we reached out, the compassionate staff made it their priority to ensure he was well taken care of. Their structured program has been nothing short of transformative. I can hardly believe how far Leo has come; he went from experiencing 4 to 6 self-injurious behaviors daily to having them only once a week or, in many cases, none at all. This remarkable progress speaks volumes about the effectiveness of their higher structure program, tailored to meet the needs of kids like Leo. Woods provided Leo with specialized support that we simply couldn’t find in any hospital or home care service in New Jersey, where options for HHA and respite services are limited. The structured environment, combined with the dedicated care from the staff, allowed Leo to thrive in ways I never imagined possible. During this challenging time, they didn’t just treat Leo; they embraced him and our family. One particular moment that touched my heart was when one of the caregivers asked me to remember Leo and keep him in our hearts. It highlighted the genuine care and commitment they have toward not only Leo but also our entire family dynamic. Knowing that he is surrounded by such supportive individuals has alleviated much of our worry. Woods has become a beacon of hope for Leo, and I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact they have had on his life and our family. If you are considering Woods for your loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Thank you, Woods, for the remarkable work you do. You have truly changed our lives for the better.
My daughter sees Angie & Dianna, such wonderful women. Unfortunately, the front desk woman is the most patronizing person I’ve ever met. She comes off nice with the wording and the smile, but she is extremely rude and it would be because of her we stop our services. She should be working with any kind of special needs. She needs to be fired
I have been friends with parents of a resident of Woods Services for 28 years. Their daughter was placed in an in-state residential program, only to be told years later that her needs could no longer be met there. She was then placed at Woods Services. She has been a resident there for the past 10 years. She has a severe seizure disorder and is medically fragile. She receives around the clock care. Each and every one of her caretakers treats her with compassion and sincere love. I witnessed this firsthand when I was visiting the campus recently to present the residents with homemade quilts. The caretakers were treating approximately 30 ladies, of all ages, with kindness and gentleness. The level of treatment I saw brought me to tears. My friends have been extremely grateful for the love and care given to their daughter. The workers at Woods Services are truly special people with a God given gift.
