The optical is not professional or helpful at all. I paid for the thinnest and top of the line lens and they ordered the cheaper one and said that was the thinnest. They would not provide any proof of the lens they ordered. They never answer their phone so you have to go in person to resolve anything. Their staff has gone downhill now that everyone else retired. No one to resolve any issues with there.
It seems every time I go here I can book at least three hours every time they overbook here so there’s like 20 people waiting for the 815 slot and every six weeks. I go see my doctor I get the same response every time I see him that would be great but I see my vision is changing but he said everything is just fine. I feel like I am just a number where they can make more money off me and don’t really care about my eye Health.
My Mother went to Dr.Hook for years. But thurmond eye has really gone downhill in quality and service. Yessina at the front desk flat out told me that the Doctor didn't care if my new glasses (made by them) worked for me or not. If I wanted to tell the dr myself, it would cost me $60 to see him. I can't recommend any aspect of this business. They billed medicaid, but I still can't see. I don't know if that is considered medicaid fraud or not. But it should be. They are more concerned about getting paid than the well being of their clients.
I have been a patient at Thurmond for years but lately if you need to schedule an eye appointment be ready to wait 6 months. Then their customer service is nothing to brag about, the people at the front desk desk are as rude as can be .. At least fake a smile. Looking for new doctors.
Thurmond Eye Associates are the most unprofessional and unresponsive eye clinic I have ever stepped into. Horrible customer service. My 94 year old father was denied a laser procedure because the branch office in Weslaco failed to get an authorization code. They turned my 94 year old father was from service. I would never refer this clinic to anyone, ever!
