Total Vision PC - LA Mesa

I rarely leave reviews unless I’ve had a bad experience, but this visit was so good I had to share. From start to finish, everyone was incredibly helpful and welcoming. I didn’t have to wait long at all, and the entire appointment was quick without feeling rushed. The doctor was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly while answering all of my questions. The assistant was just as kind, easy to talk to, and thorough. Honestly, the entire staff made the experience smooth and comfortable. I genuinely have nothing negative to say. I even told my husband right away that he needs to come here for his next eye exam. Highly recommend!

Dr. Y and his staff are amazing. He has great wisdom and knowledge and takes care of my entire family so well. He spotted a potentially critical situation with my eyes and handled my care swiftly and thoroughly. I am always well taken care of by his staff and I highly recommend going here. They have a great selection of glasses and they handle my insurance issues easily and with no hassle for me. It was a smart move for our family to all switch to Total Vision with Dr. Y.

I came in to order a pair of Maui Jim prescription sunglasses using my VSP insurance and was quoted approximately $240 out of pocket — a number that seemed fair given my benefits. I spent 45 minutes going through the entire process with a staff member who was clearly unfamiliar with the system. Rather than asking a colleague for help early on, she stumbled through it the whole time, only to be corrected at the very end — at which point the price I had been quoted was no longer valid. If she had simply asked for assistance when she first ran into trouble, we could have gotten the right answer upfront and I could have made an informed decision about whether to move forward. Instead, I wasted nearly an hour of my time only to have the rug pulled out from under me on the price. That is not how you treat customers. Transparency and competence should be the baseline — not an afterthought.

The clinic has very polite, thorough, knowledgeable and professional staff. The Dr. of Optometry, is the same as his staff and has a great bedside manner. He listened to my long history. He improved my prescription clarity & vision, by diminishing the strength of my current optical prescription.

Excellent staff! Knowledgeable, kind and one can tell they love their job. They also have great prices on cute eyewear and my overall visit did not take more than an hour! Super accessible location as well. Pay Total Vision La Mesa a visit, you will be glad you did!
