I was a patient of Dr. Roy Cohen for over 33 years. He is not only a great doctor but a wonderful person who explains everything clearly and makes you feel at ease like a trusted friend. The other doctors and all other members of the office staff are just as talented, accommodating, and helpful. Put your eye care needs in good hands at Town Optical. You will be glad you did.
As a person dealing with keratoconus doctor Roy b. cohen got me able to see perfect again , he’s by the far the best doctor in Nyc if you need scleral lens. He makes sure the fit is perfect and makes sure you’re satisfied with your contacts. A true professional as well , I had a great experience I highly recommended if you’re dealing with keratoconus.
I've been wearing glasses for 30 years and this might be the worst experience I've ever had. I think I've gotten an incorrect prescription once in my entire life before this. I ordered my glasses here because this was the optometrist my insurance covered and I found frames I really liked however I live in Brooklyn so getting here isn't easy, I thought it should be one time picking up. I have had to return to this office 4 times now due to incompetence. The first lenses were the wrong prescription in one eye when I came to pick them up, so they were sent out again. No big deal. The next pair were the right prescription with a 40% sunglass tint (originally I ordered 5%) the Optician tried to gas light me that it was a normal variation and told me to wear them to see if the prescription was right before sending them out again. I went home and could not wear these glasses at work so I called and explained that they needed to just order lenses without tint because I was tired of the back and forth. Then I return AGAIN and the lenses were tinted... luckily not sunglasses this time but they weren't supposed to have any tint, so I wear them home to test the prescription which I wasn't able to do because the tint was a problem still. So I call and tell them to just order the lenses again with this prescription and NO tint this time, I get a call a week later (today) and they tell me my lenses were delayed because of passover and that I would need to go directly to the lab now and just wait for them to be cut. I'm almost positive they used the holiday as an excuse and simply forgot to order the glasses and this was the best solution they could come up with to cover for yet another mistake. I have asked them to just return the glasses all together because this experience has been unprofessional and honestly ridiculous and I was denied. I can't believe they have customers at all, I paid $500 to spend over 6 hours traveling back and forth to the city for the wrong glasses. Not to mention in all of this, no one ever took a PD measurement for me which is kind of important for a prism. DO NOT buy your glasses at this place, they're unprofessional and no one seems to know what they're doing and at least one of the opticians was incredibly rude. Never again
I had a disappointing experience during my second visit here. The front desk staff seemed disorganized and unprofessional. I arrived at 10:30am for my eye exam appointment, but there was no one at the front desk to greet me. The receptionist was in the store area fixing her hair and didn’t acknowledge me when I arrived. After checking in, I waited 30 minutes before asking about the delay. At that point, I was told the staff member assigned to my exam was running late. There had been no prior notice or apology for the delay. In total, I waited 45 minutes for an exam that lasted about 15 minutes. I was hoping to make this my regular place for annual eye exams due to its convenient location, but based on this experience, I won’t be returning.
