I cannot recommend Dr. Shabree Nichols-Caleb and her team highly enough. This was my first comprehensive eye exam, and from the moment I walked through the door, the entire experience exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff was courteous, efficient, and genuinely welcoming, making the check-in process seamless and stress-free. Every member of the team went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and well cared for. Dr. Nichols-Caleb was exceptional. She was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and took the time to explain every part of the examination in a way that was easy to understand. She reviewed my retinal images with me, answered each of my questions thoughtfully, and never made me feel rushed. I truly appreciated how much time she invested in helping me understand not only my vision but also my overall eye health. What impressed me most was the level of personal care I received. Rather than feeling like just another patient, I felt heard, valued, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Caleb and her staff are awesome. The office staff were welcoming the minute I walked in the door. They are not only professional, they are informative, efficient, kind and friendly. Dr. Caleb gave me an amazing thorough exam, she took time with me and explained everything. I would recommend this wonderful team to everyone needing eye services. Hands down the best Optometry practice in this area!

My family and I have lived in Texas for the past two years. I have a visual impairment that led to my retirement, so I’m very familiar with routine eye exams, insurance coverage, and the importance of understanding what is and isn’t covered. Dr. Caleb is an excellent doctor, and I have no complaints about the care she provides. My concern is with the front desk staff and the billing process. On more than one occasion, I felt that I was being charged for services that I believed were included under my insurance. When I contacted my insurance company, I was told that the office had billed the service using a different medical code, which resulted in an additional $39-$40 charge. Whether intentional or not, this created unnecessary confusion and frustration. My advice to anyone visiting this office is to call the member services number on the back of your insurance card before your appointment and verify exactly what your plan covers. Don’t rely solely on what you’re told at check-in. Ask questions, request an explanation of any additional charges, and don’t hesitate to ask for an itemized bill if something doesn’t seem right. Again, Dr. Caleb provides excellent care, but I believe the front office should do a better job of explaining costs and verifying insurance benefits before asking patients to pay additional fees.
