Family member had an elective procedure (surgery) here. Staff were outstanding. Could not have asked for better treatment pre-op, intra-op, or post-op. No complications or side effects. I highly recommend this facility for top notch care. 3rd floor Starbucks coffee machines are malfunctioning, as are 1st floor ones. If someone could please donate new machines, that would be terrific. Also, PACU could use a new printer/scanner. Thank you in advance for your kindness to this well-deserving hospital staff. These minor changes could certainly improve their work days significantly.

Had the worse experience at Callahan ER. Totally shook my confidence in their level of care. After 4 hr 15 minute visit it was apparent they lack supervision and professionalism. I am not a happy camper!
I loved coming here when Dr. Girkin was there and was treating me. I saw Dr. Joiner for the first time in December and it was my first experience with a doctor that I disliked. I waited all day to even see him just for him to look at my records and say he doesn’t understand why Girkin kept seeing me and that I wasn’t the type of patient he would keep treating. Dr. Girkin’s whole plan was to make sure I didn’t advance into full glaucoma so he saw me twice a year to make sure everything was stable and on the right track. I transferred to a new doctor who worked under Dr. Girkin and I’m so relieved to have a doctor who understands why I’m on the treatment plan that I’m on. I recently received a letter in the mail with doctors that Joiner is referring me to because I’m not a patient he’d continue to treat which is crazy that i received the letter right here at my original scheduled appointment with him in June. That would have a been a major inconvenience if I didn’t already get an appointment with a new doctor before I received the letter. I called to cancel my June appointment with Joiner and the girl I talked to hung up before I could even finish saying thank you for canceling the appointment. In my honest opinion, Callahan Eye is nothing nor is the same without Dr. Girkin.
A family member had emergency surgery around 9 pm last week. Most everyone was very professional. I would like especially to commend L. McQueen also known as King of the IV. He was very gracious and accommodating, a grand representative for Callahan Eye Foundation for sure.
The only people who leave good reviews about this place either come here exactly 1 time with an easy problem to solve, or they have no self respect and think it should be normal for a basic eye exam to take 2 hours cuz they don't know any better. Quality of care is irrelevant. If you value your TIME, go somewhere else.
