Warm and knowledgeable staff. The dentist all make you feel comfortable like family. My kids and I love it here. They take the worry and stress out of going to the dentist. We feel well taken care of here.
This was the worst dentist visit I ever had. My 18 yo son is non-verbal and has autism. He has been in pain for months and bounced from office to office. We thought we had finally found the right place. To our dismay, there was no empathy, no willingness to consider him as a person or a patient as a whole, with pressing and complex needs The dentist, Dr T., made us feel like my son was subhuman. I brought X-rays with me. The dentist looked at them and just dictated the assistant some codes. He refused to discuss the x-rays with me (saying he didn’t have time), refused to consider alternative plans, was dismissive when my husband and I brought up collaborating with a team from UMD about anesthesia. He referred us to a private practice and to a treatment plan he printed at the front desk that we had to pick on our way out, and explicitely refused to discuss it, saying he did not have the time. Furthermore, we came to establish care with this office based on our sons’s developmental psychiatrist recommendations, in addition to addressing pressing needs, but this doctor couldn’t care less. There was no plan of action beyond referring us to an outside office for the procedures my son needed,, no planning of preventive care of any sort. The one star is for the assistant and administrative staff who were friendly.
Jaime and the rest of the staff are EXCELLENT! It is extremely hard to find dental practices that are willing to accept developmentally challenged individuals. My sister has been a patient for over 10 years. I don't know what we would do or where we would go if we had to find a new dental practice.
Kudos to Mrs. Karen. Thank you for being caring and compassionate. She kept me informed every step of the way. Her calm demeanor and attention to detail put me at ease. I hope I have her again for my next visit.
