In late March I had an emergency that resulted in me having issues with my eyes. I initially visited a new Primary Care that was fairly condescending on the whole issue, but did notice that my right eye seemed to be delayed in response to some tests. That was the moment I realized I needed to visit Village Eye Care for an optometry medical appointment. I have been a patient of Dr. Windel's for about 3+ years, but she was unfortunately unavailable for the appointment I had scheduled and I ended up seeing Dr. Rachel Lee in April of 2026. I went to the Village Eye Care office in Edgewater where Dr. Lee took care of me and not only tested my eyesight to see if my prescription changed, but she also took extra care in my eye issues. She took extra time and care while also dealing with her regularly scheduled clients, giving me every bit of information I needed to know what was going on. She eventually came to the conclusion that I may be experiencing a nystagmus in my right eye, but referred me to an optoneurologist who diagnosed me with BVD (binocular visual dysfunction). I am scheduled to head to my first visual therapy appointment on Monday, July 6 2026. Although I thought I had mostly recovered from the emergency during the months following, in the last two weeks, my BVD has been more strenuous than normal and I am glad that I can finally get some answers. I found out from Dr. Lee that nystagmus and now BVD could have been present for a long while, but this emergency in March may have triggered it to be more active. I'm am so thankful for Dr. Lee's care, time, and professionalism. This BVD diagnosis may explain symptoms that I have been experiencing my entire life (anxiety, vertigo, dizziness, eye tension, headaches, focus difficulty, neck pain, etc.), but never had optometrists or other eye doctors take extra care of until visiting with her. Thank you thank you thank you.

I stopped by another place and had a disappointing experience before visiting Village Eye Care. I am deeply impressed and touched by the 7-star service provided by Andres. He was warm, welcoming, selfless, and eager to help. Despite the fact that I wasn't buying anything from him, he tried to unconditionally help me with the guidance I was seeking for my own glasses purchase. He didn't even charge me for something he installed on my sunglasses. I received true, customer-oriented service from Andres. If anyone wants a caring and comfortable service, I highly recommend this great place. I wish Andres and Village Eye Care growth and success!
I had a really positive experience at my appointment- the staff were prompt, organized, and informative. I sometimes feel anxious at eye care appointments, but I felt calm and listened to by the staff here. Would recommend!
I walked in to get a lens switched in my Ray Bans. The guy at the reception desk took my glasses and changed the lens in 5 minutes. But get THIS, he didn't charge me a thing. I even offered to give him something but he said NO. Now that's GREAT service 💯💯
I loved everyone here! Rachel did a great job with my eye exam and Andres was super helpful when discussing insurance and frames that I felt comfortable in. Everyone inside made me feel like they cared and wanted to get to know me as a person, not just a customer! I will definitely be coming back
