Disorganized scheduling and very poor communication.
Today, on March 12th, my experience at Vision Unlimited at Kendall (13852 SW 88th St, Miami) was extremely disappointing.
My mom and I arrived at 2:45 PM for her 3:00 PM annual eye exam. When I checked in, the front desk attendant told me the appointment had been canceled, even though we never canceled it and I had scheduled it just 24 hours earlier. She could not explain why.
Since we had already driven there, she checked us in anyway. While we were waiting, the situation at the front desk seemed very disorganized. One patient arrived after us, gave his name, and the attendant said out loud that it was strange because the system showed he was already checked in, and she didn’t know how that had happened. He was them quickly escorted to the rear of the office.
Another patient seated next to my mom mentioned that he had come to the office the other day and experienced a very long wait time then as well.
After about 30 minutes, a man who had arrived after us asked the front desk how much longer the wait would be since he had already been waiting quite a while. During this time there was still no update, no explanation, and no communication from staff about delays.
To make matters more frustrating, a mother and daughter arrived about 30 minutes after us, were checked in, and were called to the back shortly afterward, even though we had already been waiting much longer.
We waited 45 minutes (2:45–3:30 PM) with no apology and no information about how long the wait might be. No one offered to reschedule or acknowledged the delay.
We eventually left. The lack of organization, communication, and respect for patients’ time was very disappointing.
