Dr. Hammer is an outstanding ophthalmologist. He is highly knowledgeable, extremely detail-oriented, and very professional in every aspect of his work. He takes the time to listen carefully, explain everything clearly, and answer questions with patience and expertise. What impressed me most was his ability to build trust and confidence. He has an excellent bedside manner and makes patients feel comfortable, respected, and well cared for. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine concern for his patients truly set him apart. I went in for an eye emergency. I was in a lot of pain due to an injury and was seen very promptly which is rare in most medical practices today in my experience, even when you are in a lot of pain and when it’s a clear emergency. It was a relief to be seen promptly and to have the injury diagnosed. The doctor appeared to be very knowledgeable and was very nice.

Great eye care assistant Appointment times are long but if you want good care make time!

I cannot comment on the quality of eye care at this clinic because I did not end up being seen. My concern is with the way patients’ time is handled. It took nearly a month to get an appointment. When I arrived for my scheduled visit, I was told that I might have to wait up to 1.5 hours before the visit even started. Since the visit itself could also take around 1.5 hours, this would have meant spending up to 3 hours at the clinic for a routine annual eye exam. When I asked why such a long delay was expected beyond my appointment time, I was simply told that this was their procedure. I understand that medical offices can run behind, but patients’ time should also be respected. I decided to cancel my appointment and go elsewhere. Unfortunately, this experience gave me the impression that patient scheduling and communication are not handled with much respect for patients’ time. If your time is important to you, I would suggest considering another eye clinic.

This practice has experienced and knowledgeable doctors. (Drs, Sarezky and Martinez) took care of my mom who is blind due to advanced glaucoma which also makes her susceptible to eye infections. They saved her life twice after other doctors/practices couldn't. The staff is courteous and welcoming. The only negative is the wait times, paid parking and long walking distance to the office. But when you or your loved one is in pain, this isn't a problem at all. Thanks Visionary Eye Doctors for your expertise in vision care. You are simply the best!!!
